We live and work in the awesome Vail Valley! We are avid hikers, bikers, and skiers and love to take advantage of all the valley has to offer. We have been here ten years and counting and can provide lots of local info. We also love to travel and experience new places. As seasoned travelers, we know what it takes to provide a comfortable base camp for your outdoor adventures.
We have rented often through VRBO but this was our BEST experience ever. The location in Eagle was ideal. We easily walked to the town of Eagle, enjoyed a drink at a local sports bar and a nice meal at The Dusty Boot. The walk was breathtaking and even after 10 inches of snow the day or two before, the sidewalks were clear. There were spectacular views of the mountain and the snow covered fields. Everyone we met was nice and helpful. It was an easy 30 minute drive to Vail and we drove in to ski each day with no problem. It is also near the town of Avon which has shopping, nice places to eat, and affordable ski rental shops. The owners were kind and helpful. The rental was incredibly clean with wonderful bed linens and towels. It felt like home. They even had a Christmas tree up in the rental which was a happy surprise. The mattresses were great and the two XL twins were perfect for my 18 year old daughter and 21 year old son. The sofa bed isn't a fold out with uncomfortable springs, it is a couch that has a bottom piece like a recliner that lifts up even with the seat and makes a big bed. They have a foam mattress topper that you put over it and it makes a very comfortable bed. There were plenty of blankets and comforters for warmth even on the 0 degree days. We enjoyed the warmth and ambiance of the gas fire place in the living room. The deck off the living room looks out toward a beautiful mountain range. The kitchen was huge with nice appliances, dishes, pots and utensils and plenty of room to cook every meal. We really appreciated the water and ice through the refrigerator door as hydration was very important for adjusting to the altitude change. We felt very welcomed like we were visiting family. Even though the home is shared with the owners, we could not hear them at all. It is well built and quiet. We didn't feel like we were in a thin walled duplex. No street noise. The hot tub was very nice and great for the muscles after a long day of skiing. Our flight to Denver was delayed and it was nice to find bottled water in the refrigerator and coffee in the cabinet after a long travel day. I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place to stay. This will be our go to rental when we return to Colorado. I have absolutely no complaints about this rental. The owners were easy to work with during the entire rental process with quick responses to emails and text messages.
We happened upon the town of Eagle and this property, we were pleasantly surprised. We had planned a weekend of floating the Colorado River on our stand up paddle boards and initially thought of staying in Glenwood. We decided Eagle would be an easier drive and found this property. Tracy and Joe have a wonderful rental. We arrived and a bottle of wine was waiting for us in the refrigerator along with bottled water. There were maps and details on the property and the surrounding area. Joe give me some info on the local trails prior to arriving. The neighborhood is great, very quiet and quick access to amazing mountain biking and walking trails. After a day of adventure we enjoyed sitting on the awesome deck and enjoying the views. The kitchen is stocked with everything you'll need and the open dining/living room is a great place to wind down. Everything was immaculate, very clean and up to date.
If you're looking for a mountain biking get away, a home base for local adventures or quiet getaway this is a great choice. If you're not familiar with Eagle it's worth checking out, it seems to be much less congested than the other I70 mountain towns while offering accessibility to a lot of outdoor activities.
The area is terrific and the hosts were helpful and hospitable. The unit is with easy walking distance of the "town square" and numerous hiking and biking trails and the golf course is just a very short drive away. We definitely want to go back!
My family of 7 came up for a long weekend baseball tournament and had a wonderful time. The house is in a very convenient location, very clean, well supplied kitchen, and plenty of room with a pull-out sofa and reclining chairs for the kids to sleep on. We had a great time and would recommend this property to anyone looking to go to this area. Big thanks to the owners for a great place to stay!
This is a wonderful place to stay. It was very clean and the beds are comfortable. It is in a nice neighborhood and we could not believe how quiet it was at night. Joe and Tracey, the owners, are very nice and helped us with our mountain bike planning. They are very knowledgeable of the local trails. It was easy to get to the trailheads from the house on the bike paths that go through Eagle. We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend this place!
Perfect 2BR comfortable extremely clean fully furnished "thanksgiving" dinner "ready"-including all kitchen essential tools- home rental. Safe quiet friendly neighborhood with park for dog and children only one block away. Walking/running trails connected to many mile spider network of trails within 3 blocks. We cooked thanksgiving dinner in the rental, served 9 total, all at one table, and there was seating for all. Great experience; comfortable furniture/beds and Joe and Tracey extremely helpful and always answered calls quickly for questions. 5 stars+!!
There will be no reason for looking elsewhere if we do thanksgiving again in Eagle next year.
20 minutes from Beaver Creek Ski Area, 30 minutes to Vail, 30 minutes to Glenwood Springs. 1.25 hours to Aspen. Walking/biking distance to restaurants, shops and craft breweries. Skiing, snow-shoeing, river rafting and kayaking, hiking, fly fishing, hot springs, mountain and road biking, Zip lining, and 4 wheeling all available within shooting distance.
