This beautiful Ranch-style hillside home has easy access to Boise's beautiful foothills and extensive trail network. The view from the deck has stunning views of downtown and the State Capital only a mile away. The neighborhood is quiet and yet only a mile’s walk or drive into town where you can find ample restaurants, coffee houses, boutique’s, nightlife and fun for the whole family.

Bright, spacious and welcoming.... Large bedrooms and living space. Sliding doors and windows offer sunset views.

Floor surfaces are primarily hardwood, with tile in kitchen area.

Kitchen: Too many cooks in the kitchen? Not a problem! It is fully stocked with ample counter space and everything you could possible need to create a magnificent meal. Equipped with quality cookware: Henckels knives, gas stove, All-clad and Calphelon pots and pans. The kitchen opens to the living room and has counter top seating to create a more open and communal feel. A separate dining room is adjacent for a more formal dining experience.

On the deck you will find ample furniture and a gas BBQ for warmer weather.

Guest access: Guests will have access to everything in the house's main level (downstairs is a daylight basement which is locked to guests and used for cleaning and linen resupply). Owners do not live on property, but will be nearby should you need anything at all!

Getting around: The house is walking distance to Foothill running/walking or biking trails and several public parks in the neighborhood featuring ample picnic opportunities, a tennis court, skateboard park and archery range.

Just a few minutes drive and you will find downtown Boise, more parks, Boise River, Boise Zoo, A natural Food Co-op, Trader Joe’s, Winco, Coffee houses, the public library and the Capitol.

About Robert Burke

Patty and Rob manage this VRBO as a team.

Rob moved from California to Boise in 1990 to work as an process engineer at Micron until 2013. He and Patty met in 2007 and married a few years later. Our career now is managing our short-term and long-term rentals. His passions are cycling (especially mountain biking) and gardening, also enjoys cooking, so a well-equipped, functional kitchen is important.

Patty grew up in a suburb of Boston, and has spent her post-college life throughout the West, first working as a wildland firefighter, then switching careers to teaching 3-6 year olds in Montessori schools. Patty enjoys hiking with the dogs, running, and [more recently] mountain biking in the Boise Foothills.

Our careers now are co-managing short-term and long-term rentals.

Robert Burke purchased this house in 1994

Why Robert Burke chose Idaho

Rob originally bought this for his residence because of its views and proximity to downtown and the foothills.

What makes this house unique

Quiet neighborhood because no through-traffic.

Proximity to Boise's best features: Foothills trails, Downtown, Green-belt, BSU.

Great Local, Great Place

  • 5 of 5

Took my family to Boise for a conference at St. Luke's. This house was absolutely perfect for our needs. We have a 15 month old toddler and this house worked great. There was a short step into the living room that he played with more than any toy we brought him. The views were pretty spectacular too, though we didn't get to use the porches as much as we wanted cause of the weather. Super easy access to the Military Reserve park from the house, just a short walk down the hill. About the only bad thing I can say about the house is that it's a wee bit hard to find, even for locals. The delivery folk had a real tough time finding the house. Otherwise it was a wonderful place to stay.

Wonderful location and very comfortable !

  • 5 of 5

We visited from 11/10 - 11/13. The location is awesome. A mile from the east end of town, perched on a hill with views of the Capitol and downtown, Extremely clean, comfortable and well stocked with matching plates. flatware, etc. Emergency coffee and oats were very appreciated ! Everything work perfectly with no complications. Great parking and a nice area to walk around the neighborhood or head up the hill for hiking. Quick access to downtown via UBER/LYFT or walking. Felt very at home and enjoyed it immensely. Nice touch with the welcome fruit and homemade cookies !!

This was our second stay at this VRBO. It is perfect for us. Comfortable master bedroom, great kitchen, and great view of the lights of downtown Boise. We walked to downtown. Very much a plus! Plus the owners are responsive and keep this property immaculate on the inside. Travelers from Portland
