Mountain Condo at the top of the Smokies!
Enjoy the Smokey Mountains at it best in my English Mountain Resort Condo located on top of English Mountain. The English Mountain Resort is one of the Smokey Mountain's hidden surprises. It is located above the Forbidden Caverns which are located under the Smokies. My place will sleep 4 to 5. It has a queen size bed in the master bedroom, a queen sofa sleeper in the living room, and a matching sofa that can be used as a twin bed. The villa has a stone, wood burning fireplace, full kitchen with dishwasher, cookware, etc. You will love setting or swinging on the wrap around deck. while enjoying the mountain air. From the deck you can almost touch the clouds. I love seeing the moon over the treetops and the sun rising over the top of the Mountains. Even though you will enjoy the remoteness of the condo, the chalet has internet service, phone, and cable TV. Cable is in the bedroom and the living room. The chalet is street level so you can walk straight from the parking lot into the condo. This is perfect for us older travelers. There are not any steps to climb. The condo is an end unit and has the wrap around deck. The English Mountain Resort has a pool and sauna.
Several years ago, English Mountain was the home of a prestigious Medical Facility that used the wonderful, mineral springs located just a short distance from the English Mountain Resort to treat their patients. The Doctor that owned the facility claimed the minerals found in the springs were healing for numerous medical conditions that many people suffered from. His patients must have agreed because people would come from all over the Country to English Mountain so that they could soak their bodies in the minerals spring water for health purpose. He had a hotel built so that they could stay on English Mountain for their mineral treatments and enjoy the peace, serenity and solitude of beautiful English Mountain. I don't know if it was the wonderful mineral water or the peaceful English Mountain but people came for years for the healing powers found here. It was popular until the hotel burnt down several years ago and the Doctor chose to retired. This condo has the mineral water. I have always told my guests to turn the water on in the bathtub when they come in and let it run while they unpack their vehicle so that there wouldn't be a smell of the minerals because you can sometimes smell the minerals that are found in the water. If you would like to try the therapy of the mineral water, do not do this and If you happen to get a whiff of a chemical when you are bathing just know that there is not an extra charge and not only are you getting a great bath but it could actually make you feel better. lol
You experience your own beautiful views of the mountains and valleys on the 7 mile drive around and up English Mountain. It is located about 5 miles from Forbidden Caverns. Blowing Cave Road will change into Alpine Drive, but you do not leave the highway until you reach Cove Road and the English Mountain Resort will be located on the left about 150 yards.
If you are seeking peace, seclusion and relaxation this is the perfect place. If you want peace, seclusion, relaxation and enjoy restaurants, shows, sight seeing, etc., this is the perfect place because it is a beautiful drive to anywhere you would want to go. The drive down English Mountain gives you an awesome view of the Mountains, you can see Douglas Lake in the distance, you will pass Blowing Cave Church which is a quaint, charming country church. Forbidden Caverns is a "must see"!. When you leave the caverns, you can catch your own trout at the Trout Restaurant and they will cook it for you. Before you leave Blowing Cave Road, you will see a historical mill that will soon be in operation. If you turn to the right on 411, it will take you to the Bush Bean Restaurant and Museum. If you turn left it will take you on a scenic drive to Sevierville. If you turn left when leaving Cove Road, there are backroads to Carvers Applefarm Restaurant, Gatlinburg, etc., that keeps you away from the tourist traffic.
My husband and I love to take different routes and find the treasures of the Smokies. EXPERIENCE the Smokey Mountains! STAY IN THE MOUNTAINS!!
