MUST STAY HERE!!
We stayed 5 days for our anniversary in this lovely and welcoming cottage. The host Anne & John made us feel so welcome and went the extra mile to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The place is fixed up so nicely and even stocked with some immediate food items as well as homemade scones and snacks on arrival. We can't wait to come back and stay again! Right at 2hrs from DUB airport, 20 minutes into the heart of Galway, 1:20 minutes to the Cliffs or Moher, a perfect location!
Hi Daniel & Kayla,
It was wonderful having you stay with us.Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your great review.
I expect an upsurge in business! Rest assured we will continue to help our guests have a welcoming and special experience .
Anne & John
Lovely, warm, and welcoming
We stayed for 2 weeks in March, 2018. Because of the big winter storm that hit Europe, UK, and Ireland we were 2 days late arriving. Anne stayed in contact with us and when we arrived, there was a cheery fire going, the electric mattress pad was warm, and there were scones, butter and jam, olives, crackers and cheese waiting for us. She had also stocked the cottage up with enough milk, bread, eggs, and bacon to get us started. During our stay she also brought us fresh scones one morning and a lovely (hot out of the oven) apple crisp with a container of custard one evening. Anne and John were warm and hospitable without being intrusive. On our final day there John gave us a tour of the farm and also of the local sights in the parish.
The cottage is located in an ideal place for exploring the west side of Ireland. We were able to drive both south and north of Galway, explore both ends of the Wild Atlantic Way, and see lots of sights. Anne has a listing of local attractions and a couple of driving maps to help visitors make the most of their stay in Ireland.
Not only is this cottage for two a comfortable, well appointed cottage, the the owners, Anne and John are wonderful hosts.who were warm and welcoming. We were "sold" from the minute we drove in and saw two cats playing out in the yard! Being animal lovers ourselves, it was great meeting the three dogs and two cats they own. Anne welcomed us with warm scones and jam in the cottage, along with a few basics that are so helpful upon arrival. Television, Wifi, dishwasher, and washing machine were all furnished. John showed us around his farm and introduced us to his herd of beautiful cows, along with telling us about this being the farm he grew up on.
Anne and John's recommendation for eating at the Morans Oyster Cottage was perfect!
Far enough from Galway to not be in traffic constantly, yet close enough to get into Galway easily.
Highly recommend this cottage!
Kilcolgan gem Aug 9-12 2017
Ann welcomed us personally, and showed us around her beautiful cottage. It was well stocked by Ann with cheeses, olives, milk, butter, bacon, eggs, orange juice, bread, cream and some delicious home made cakes and biscuits. The cottage was roomy, having a dining area, well stocked kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, sitting room, bedroom with comfy bed, and bathroom, where there was ample supply of shampoo and conditioner. The comfy sitting room was stocked with lots of books and games, and Anne had collated several folders of what to do locally and a bit further afield.
The situation is perfect for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way both north and south, is close to Galway town and an easy drive to Limerick. Unfortunately Anne was out when we left so we didn't get to thank her personally for all her care, but I would like to say how much we enjoyed our 4 nights here, and would recommend it to anyone wishing to have a comfortable, relaxing stay in an obviously well taken care of cute and cosy cottage. Private and peaceful home away
All the comforts of home and more. The property was centrally located to visit all site we wanted from Kilrush, Cong, Connemara golf, Cliffs and Burren. The hosts provided much more than expected and made our stay fantastic. They offered plenty of insight to see attractions without experiencing the busy tourist season. The local ruins and hurling game was an extreme highlight. The property was quiet and private. We were totally relaxed after each lengthy day of siteseeing and golf. Being able to make our own meals added to the feeling of home comfort. Property is ideal for two. A great place to stay with exceptional hosts.
