What makes this Cottage unique
Stunning scenery and panoramic sea views ~ Free Wi-Fi
You need a car to stay here
The accommodations were nice, beds comfortable, and house safe and warm. Be aware you do need to pay cash at end of stay for use of heat and water (owner decides how much, not sure how). You do need a car if you stay here because bus service is very minimal and costly, and cabs would be your main mode of transportation. Our stay was hampered by a door that took about 15 minutes to lock each time you tried to lock it (from the inside and outside). The owner was aware of this before we began our stay, but still neglected to get it fixed even after we nicely complained about it. We would not be staying here again.
We would just like to clarify to future guests, that only the oil and electricity are by meter read (as per the property description), there are no additional fees for water usage.
Although the location is semi-rural, there is a bus stop conveniently placed just outside of the property, with stops including, but not limited to, Galway City, Salthill, Carraroe and Lettermore. The local bus timetable can be found in the welcome pack, as well as local contacts for reasonably priced taxis.
The door in question, is a standard three point mortice locking security door, whereby the handle is lifted in order to bolt and lock the door.
The hosts of the house are very nice, helpful and humorous people. The house is very nice and invites with the fireplace for cozy evenings. From the bedroom and the kitchen you have direct sea view. The sea is within walking distance. All in all, we were very, very happy and would definitely recommend the house.
