If you love the sight and sound of the sea outside your windows, you will love Morfran. Our spacious apartment is located right on the seafront at Porthcawl on the Wales Coast Path. It has recently undergone a full renovation and the finish is superb. The interior has been carefully thought out to be as flexible as possible and the room sizes are most generous with fabulous high ceilings. Couple this with the magnificent windows overlooking the seafront and the first impressions are breathtaking.
The apartment is on the ground floor and one of two in the substantial three storey building and can be accessed from the side or rear. From the side access, the hallway leads to the open plan lounge and kitchen/dining area. The lounge has full sea views and, being a south facing room, the light streams in. and there are two large comfy sofas from which guests can relax and enjoy their surroundings. The kitchen also benefits from the views thanks to the very sociable, open plan layout. With a range of appliances including a cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer dryer, microwave, kettle, toaster and Nespresso machine, guests should have all they need at their disposal. Guests can eat at the breakfast bar but if a dining table is required for more formal dining, let us know beforehand and we can arrange.
As the apartment is all on one level, it is very accessible and the layout very flexible. The large master bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with a Jack and Jill arrangement so it can also be used by other guests, again adding to the flexibility the apartment offers. The bathroom has a sink unit, WC and bath with shower over. The master bedroom has a king size sleigh bed and a generous dressing table /work area. As the bedroom is at the front of the property, this room also benefits from the spectacular views, so you can start your day sitting in bed watching the waves with that first cup of tea!
The second bedroom can be set up to suit the needs of guests with two single beds or a king size bed. This bedroom also has a seating / dressing area and an ensuite wet room comprising of WC, sink unit and shower. There are sea glimpses from the side windows and the room has it's own entrance from the rear of the property, which further increases flexibility and the potential for private space.
The third bedroom is another good size room with a full size single bed and a slightly smaller pull out bed, so the apartment really can accommodate a variety of groups. All of the bed linen. hand and bath towels are provided.
The apartment offers Wi Fi, digital TV and gas central heating. There is also a parking space for one car to the rear and a sun terrace to the front with a a seating area. (Please note that access to the parking space is slightly awkward so may only be suitable for smaller vehicles and care must be taken when parking there. If the parking space is unsuitable or you require additional parking, you can park on the street without restrictions.)
This apartment is centrally located in a very desirable residential area. For this reason, and because the apartment above is a private residence, it is ideal for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing break to enjoy all that Porthcawl has to offer. It won't however be suitable for larger / lively groups as consideration for neighbours is essential at all times.
The pebbly beach immediately opposite the apartment is quiet and often feels like your own private beach! You can follow the Wales Coast Path in either direction, and you are just a few hundred yards from local Blue Flag beaches (renowned by surfers), the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, the Town Centre and more. The location offers guests the best of both worlds – uninterrupted sea views in a lovely residential location, but with all of the attractions of a traditional seaside town close at hand (including the funfair and donkey rides on the beach in the main season).
We provide tea, coffee, sugar, milk in the fridge and Welsh cakes ready for refreshment on your arrival.
Morfran is located just at the edge of the town centre where it meets Locks Common and Rest Bay. It is a beautiful spot with the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club just a few hundred yards away.
PLEASE NOTE that minimum stays vary from 3-5 nights depending on season.There will be a £20 surcharge for bookings that begin or end on a Saturday or Sunday.
We try to offer as much flexibility as possible, so please do enquire with your requirements if the calendar doesn't quite work for you.
Discounts may be available for stays of 7 nights or more outside peak season.
