About Pat Smith

I live in Arizona but I have lived in Pagosa for 6 years and visited for more than 5 years prior to that. I spent 30 years in Phoenix and just love the difference in the cool weather and and spectacular mountains. I love to rent my vacation home/cabin out to allow others to come visit the beauty of Colorado. Trees, wildlife, hot springs, hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding and water activities during the summer and skiing, ice fishing, tobogganing and snowmobiling and winter activities in the winter. Experience the small town get- a-way from your work, large cities and relax and enjoy Pagosa.

Pat Smith purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Pat Smith chose Pagosa Springs

I have lots of room in the cabin for families, dogs, romance and just a place to sit read, relax and enjoy some down time. I encourage families, friends and individuals to take advantage of what Pagosa has to offer. I encourage you to come and share birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations and just quiet time with each other. Bake a cake, throw a meal in a crock pot or enjoy cooking in this cozy atmosphere cabin. Bring your own food or pick up at the local grocery store, BBQ on the outdoor charcoal grill and create a memory!

What makes this cabin unique

Lots of room having an upstairs loft with cozy feeling in an aspen wood cabin/home. Wood burning stove adds a touch and warmth to the cabin. Plenty of space for you and your family. Come experience Colorado. Great place to vacation. Fans in every room and room heaters and electric blankets for the cooler weather..

Great Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was great. I love to cook and or had all the essential tools for preparing and serving meals. I was more than comfortable the entire time and saw deer almost everyday. The town is close with a city market and good restaurants and there is a great hike to chimney rock 11 miles away.

I had a question for the owner and she replied right away. She was very intentional about making sure my stay was good.

The price was more than affordable.

Thanks Pat!

Nice cabin, a few updates would make it perfect

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is nice and pretty much as described, a few changes would make it perfect. It was just me, my wife, and our dog but the cabin was very spacious and has plenty of space for larger groups. The owner is very attentive and makes sure that your stay is nice. Making meals was easy in the kitchen which is a nice size with plenty of counter space. The recliners are also super comfy.

Some things that would make the cabin even better:

The hot water tank is kind of small. I finished my shower right as the water was getting cold but the next day my wife had cold water for the last several minutes of her shower.

The fenced yard area is dirt and rock. It would be great to have a small deck area so people could sit out back and enjoy the great views.

As mentioned in a previous post the neighborhood is kind of poor. We took our dog for a walk around the streets and encountered one house with 8 or so chihuahuas off leash and barking at us. The owner ran down to corral them, and it didn't really take away from the trip, but was just a little unexpected. Some properties also had trash piles or abandoned cars on their lots.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for bringing to my attention some possible situations happening at my cabin. We appreciate your input and can only respond to things we hear about. We care about our guests and their experiences and apologize for any inconvenience this has been to you during your stay. We do have a 30 gal water tank for our guests and I will check into what happened during your stay and assess the problem. I can only apologize for any of my neighbors actions you experienced during your stay and know we have great people living around me, not to say that situations can arise that cause some concern. Thank you for sharing your opinion with me and I am glad you enjoyed being at my cabin. Sincerely, Pat Owner

Great house and best owner ever

  • 5 of 5

This review is for 124 Cottonwood. We did not stay on Aspen Springs - somehow, VRBO is confused. My husband and our small dog thoroughly enjoyed our week in this lovely house. Everything we needed or wanted was at hand, and the owner responded immediately to any questions. We used the house as our base for daily excursions, as our goal was to enjoy the scenic fall foliage. Should we ever return to Pagosa Springs, we we would definitely stay here again.

Cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

We found this property just as described. Loved looking up at broken off point. Perfect quiet ending to our week vacation in Pagosa Springs. Cabin was neat and clean. Upstairs bed was most comfortable. Snacks were a very nice surprise! Owner was very attentive throughout rental process. Thank you Pat for sharing your home with us.
