Very nice and open property with a FANTASTIC view!
Though we only stayed for one night, we wished we could have stayed longer but I highly recommend it for anyone from a couple to a large party traveling together (there were five single males traveling in my party.) Because of the size of our group, we required the whole top floor (we were told it was 2,200 sq. feet which is bigger than my house) and LuAnne was the perfect host. When we were more than 4 hours late (we told her we'd arrive roughly 5 to 6 P.M. but arrived closer to 9:45 P.M., she met us at her property to let us in and give us the lay of the land. We did not get to use the "rec" room but it was nice big room with games to play and the property is relatively secluded so it is really quiet. The view from the property is just as she pictures it in her listing and very beautiful though like anything in Alaska, the weather really dictates where and how far you can see.
I highly recommend anyone who is thinking of staying in this area. We were there mainly to go fishing in Homer and though it's about 30 minutes away, it's a really nice drive to and from the harbor. Thanks for everything LuAnne!
This property is pretty far out from pretty much anything. It's beautiful, and not really hard to get to, but it does take some time to get there from the highway. That being said, it has plenty of room, and the views it gives are pretty awesome. The layout of the house is a little funky, but everything is very nice. The kitchen is pretty sweet, and there are lots of windows to enjoy the great scenery.
Lots of space
We stayed on the top floor of this spacious house: two older parents, their children and grandchildren. Tremendous views. Most of the attractions we visited were based in Homer, so it was a bit of a drive every day. The furnishings are somewhat dated but completely serviceable. The decor has a personal quirky flair. Noise travels in the house and, unfortunately, we were disturbing our downstairs neighbors with chair movement and loud voices. Having Wifi was a real plus. The host was very sweet and accommodating.
Most of the additional activities are located in Homer about 18 miles away. Beachcombing and river are closer.
