About Denise Ruscoe

Hello! My name is Denise and I am delighted to welcome you to Independence, Oregon and the Fluke House. Raising 3 kids in this circa 1895 historic home and quaint town brought many joys in the last 20 years. I continue to reside in Independence and am excited to open up the Fluke House to guests. I love and continue to develop the yard and gardens. Guests will be invited to take advantage of the outside seating areas of the home to relax and rejuvenate. I love Oregon and enjoy living in the central Willamette Valley with easy access to the coastal areas, mountains, and cities. At home I enjoy knitting, yoga, and trying new recipes. I look forward to sharing my favorite flavors of Oregon with guests.

Denise Ruscoe purchased this house in 1993

We loved our stay at the Fluke House. Denise and Jeff do everything to make your stay stress free. Beautiful grounds, charming home, everything just perfect for a very reasonable rent. Would definitely recommend, and hope to stay there again. Thank you.

Cute old farmhouse about 15 minutes away from Salem.

Kitchen was great. It's so well appointed that we didn't have time to use all the useful stuff! The beds were super-comfortable, tons of room. It's a 5 bedroom house, all the bedrooms are well taken care of with good bedding and pillows. I'm so glad we chose this spot.

Cozy living room with soft couches, full dining room, bathrooms are good. Yard was big, lots of room for kids or dogs to have fun.

Denise and Jeff live close by, and were very communicative. I'd stay there again for sure, which we probably will since our son goes to school down in Salem now.....

Perfect home base

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely perfect place for our family. Plenty of room for kids to hang out. Cozy and cute old farm style house. Host was awesome and everything was clean and charming. One of the best things was walking around cute little downtown independence and sending the kids up a few blocks to the cenima in the evening, which was playing the new star wars. Loved it. Hope to be back next year. Great spot to decompress after family holiday madness!

We loved our visit to this historic home. Everything we needed was provided. It was close to the village but in a very quiet neighborhood. Denise explained everything and was very welcoming.
