Beautiful property surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery
Dimitris could not have been more helpful and made us very welcome.
We recommend that you use a sat nav to get there, as many road signs are in the Greek script only, but the house is easy to find. The location is 4 miles from Spili, which has plenty of good Tavernas, small supermarkets and local shops, and maybe 40 minutes scenic drive to a number of lovely uncrowded beaches. We hired the smallest car we could get (a Picanto) and it struggled up some of the hills, so consider a better car choice if you plan to use the smaller mountain roads.
We visited for the last 2 weeks in August and the weather was lovely - typically 85 degrees - but the mountain breeze made it feel cooler and we had a good storm one day.
Tip; the exchange rate at the ATM in town was poor, about 12% lower rate than it should have been, but we found that all the tavernas took debit or credit cards. Our favourites were the old forge, Maria's and Yannis, and everywhere we found people friendly.
