Located on a private ranch this 800 square foot guest apartment is beautifully furnished and perfect for couples or small families. This one bedroom apartment sleeps five. The bedroom has a queen bed and a set of bunks. The living room has a fold out twin.
There is access to hiking trail and many onsite activities right from the guest house. Bair ranch offers onsite horseback riding, atv adventures, chuckwagon dinners, trap shooting, hunting and wildlife and livestock viewing. We are the closest lodging to the magnificent Hanging Lake. The ranch entrance accesses the glenwood canyon bike trail. If you can do it in the colorado outdoors in the summer, we have access to it; breathtaking, beautiful, private peaceful exciting and entertaining. Come experience the glenwood canyon and surrounding areas.
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay. It's beautiful out there!
I would probably give this four stars if it was just me staying there. However I brought my 3yo and 7yo daughters, so I would give it 3 stars based on the stay with small children.
The ranch is very beautiful and if you are looking for privacy, the owners are great about keeping their distance, however they assured me to let them know anytime I needed anything.
Verizon is my carrier so I had no cell service. Again that can be good and bad.
There were too many dangers on the ranch to let my children explore unsupervised.
The house was fairly clean, and everything you need is in the house.
Under the right circumstances, I would return, you just have to know this is a niche experience and better for something's than others.
We visited in early August for a couple-day getaway to Glenwood Springs. Bair Ranch was close enough to go back and forth easily, yet secluded enough to feel in the wilderness. The house is as advertised, well kept and includes all the necessities. The grocery store/Target is very accessible to get food/sundries. We grilled a couple times over the open flame grill pit on the private patio - breathtaking views. The family that lives/works on the ranch is always close by if you need them, but gave us unfiltered privacy on our stay. Lastly, we didn't have time for the activities on the ranch, but just out your door are plenty of things to do: horseback riding, ATV adventures, chuckwagon dinners, etc.
We had a great stay and would recommend it.
Family! That is the best description of the Bair Ranch property. Our family of four stayed in their guest house for one week and we couldn't have made a better choice! They made us feel welcomed and comfortable. This was the perfect solution for our family, as I (the Dad) wanted a remote get-a-away and my wife wanted to make sure we were safe. It was the perfect spot to stay as we made sure to take advantage of all the activities the ranch and Glenwood Springs has to offer. We went white water rafting, hiking (Hanging Lake is a MUST!), ATVing, horse back riding and paragliding. We even drove up Coffee Pot Road and made a visit to the volcano in Dotsero. All the restaurants in Glenwood Springs were GREAT!
As for the guest house itself...it was very clean and offered every amenity we needed. The beds were very comfortable and all appliances are in working order. The family provided soft towels and linens along with a well assortment of dishes. We mentioned using the fire pit and when we came back from a day of activities, they had set out roasting forks and chairs. I was somewhat concerned there might be a lot of activity around our guest house, since the ranch is used for different outdoor activities, but we found it very quite and serene.
The land on this property is absolutely beautiful! One of the oldest working ranches in the state (since 1898 I think). The family has certainly maintained a tradition of friendly and generous hospitality. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely make this our home away from home. Thank you Bair family!
My wife and I spent six nights at Bair Ranch while visiting our son in the area. The Guest House was good sized and had all the things you need including a Kurig. Bair Ranch is a working ranch so there was always activity. Everyone at Bair Ranch was excellent and took good care of us. Horse back riding was awesome and well organized. We did a cattle roundup, while not for the rookie, was a lot of fun since we are more experienced riders. Bair Ranch is close to great places like Hanging Lake and Glenwood Springs. I highly recommend.
