Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 1 1/2 Baths, Sleeps 7, Remodeled Kitchen, Large Backyard

Our charming 3 bedroom home is a short walk to historic downtown Petaluma. One block away is the cute Wickersham Park where they are known for their beautiful benches with rose trellises. The home has three bedrooms, 1 ½ baths and all freshly remodeled. Hardwood floors throughout the house and original artwork decorates the walls from local artists. The master bedroom has a queen bed with plenty of space in the room. The second bedroom has its own outside French door entrance with a queen bed and half bathroom. The second bedroom is great for someone wanting their own private space. The final third bedroom has two twin beds. In the home, there is a full bath with a cute vanity and a bathtub/shower with cute subway tile.

The remodeled kitchen has a retro look with an working old stove and retro double sink, but also the clean granite look throughout. The kitchen has everything you will need to prepare meals at home. The dining room has a large table that seats six comfortably and can accommodate eight, if needed. The spacious living room includes a TV, comfortable sofa, chairs, and a entertainment unit. Off of the kitchen you'll find a washer and dryer. And of course, the home has wireless internet.

We are in the process of remodeling the furniture, so all of the details may be different.

Petaluma is centrally located in the wine country with easy drives to Sonoma and Napa. The home is only a thirty-minute drive to downtown San Francisco and the Sonoma coast. Tomales Bay, Bodega Bay, Point Reyes, and Jenner are some of the sites you'll want to see. And lots more.

Comfortable but too noisy. Once and done for us.

  • 2 of 5

Pros: House was easy to locate. It was easy to get to and from Sonoma for a wedding we attended in the area. Beds were comfortable, linens and towels were clean and home was a short distance to the downtown area with several nice restaurants and stores. The owners responded quickly to emails.

Cons: The property was extremely noisy. There was major construction on the street in front of the property (of which we know the owners had no control over). We notified the owners on our second day that there was also some type of generator/pump that kicked on every 5-7 minutes 24 hours a day that would vibrate the floor mainly under the master bedroom and turn off with a bang that rattled furniture and wall hangings. The owners said they would get in touch with the other tenant that was remodeling the store front attached to the front of the house. The tenant did not show up until day 5 of our 6 day stay. Truck traffic started at about 4:30 - 5:00 am. which also often shook the house.

I wish my review could be more positive because I think the location of the property for getting around the Sonama area worked well and the town of Petaluma was quite nice. But the noise level was difficult to deal with on a daily basis and two of our family members left after two days because they could not sleep. We ran fans and white noise apps on our phones to drown out the noise hoping the other tenant would show up and turn off whatever was running in the basement. Since we were gone from about 10 am until 9 to 11 pm every day we were mainly looking for a spot to relax, visit and sleep. The daily street construction was not the issue but it would have been nice to know it about before our arrival. Knowing that the constant noise coming from the basement could have been stopped on day 2 of our stay was really upsetting since it interfered with visiting with our family and truly caused 5 nights of interrupted sleep. We probably should have complained more often about the noise but we would leave every morning thinking the other tenant would show up while we were gone and remedy the situation. He did not. So for us it was definitely a once and done.

Charming house with a great backyard. Love your tree!

House was very close to downtown, walking distance parks with kids play ground. My only regret was that the Strudel Guy was never around to purchase his bake goods before we left.

Great location

  • 5 of 5

My family loved staying in Jennifer's place. It is located a short walk from downtown which made it an easy walk for morning coffees. We also loved the outdoor area and we spent each evening relaxing there. Jennifer was very helpful and just a phone call away for any questions. And she was great to work with. Very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again

Perfect Family Home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our three night stay in Petaluma. This property is perfect for families. We attended a wedding in Sonoma but the reception was in Rohnert Park, so the Petaluma location was perfect. The bride was my best friend, so my parents came from Los Angeles to attend the wedding. This home had an additional room with a private entrance which was perfect for my parents. They could easily come into the main house but they had their own personal space. The master bedroom was perfect for my husband and I and the bedroom with twin beds with perfect for our kids. We drove to a 50's breakfast place but could of easily walked to the restaurant. This house was a perfect location- nearby restaurants and other nice small business owned places. Our family would recommend this home. The owner even welcomed us with a bottle of wine and a bonus is all the beautiful artwork throughout the house. We loved our stay.

Sonoma County!

  • 5 of 5

My wife, two boys and myself were in Petaluma for a family wedding. This property in Petaluma was the perfect base camp for us. The owner was extremely communicative and helpful. She met us at the house for the check in and we had a wonderful conversation before she left us to settle in for the weekend. One of the most attractive features about the house in listing is the patio. We made great use of it with our extended family, enjoying some outdoor dining in the beautiful Petaluma night.

The Wi-Fi works great, the beds are super comfortable, the kitchen was perfect to work in and original 1950s. The house is two short blocks from an awesome coffee shop in one direction and a half a block away from a beautiful little Rose Garden Park in the other. Just watch out for all of the crossFit crew as they work out there in the early morning hours!

we would rent this property again in a heartbeat .
