2 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom with stunning mountain views
We purchased the loft in 2011 as an empty shell, and have spent the past four winters working on the build-out. Our summers are spent in Alaska, and lately our winters have been dedicated to the construction of the loft - our new home in Bozeman. We are proud to say it's finally finished, and has become a modern comfortable home in the heart of the Mill District. Once again, we will be in Alaska from April - October... but now that our house is finished it seems a shame to leave it sitting empty. And so, we're hoping to find some wonderful people to enjoy and take care of our home while we're gone.
Right across the parking lot is Bozeman's best bakery... Wild Crumb! Bozeman Brewing Company is only a few blocks away, and 406 Brewery is only slightly farther. A 6-block walk brings you to historic main street, with it's library, restaurants, bars, and other entertainment. Bridger Bowl is only 17 miles away, Big Sky is 45 miles, and Yellowstone National Park is 80 miles from the Loft. The area is overflowing with fishing opportunities, hiking trails, and even trails that begin one block from the Loft, as part of the "Mainstreet to the Mountains" program. Our location is absolutely perfect.
On the first floor, you'll find a very connected floor plan with the living room, kitchen / bar, and dining room all flowing together. The living room boasts a large leather sectional couch, stereo, 55" flat screen TV, and modern gas fireplace... all situated at the base of three large picture windows, climbing two stories high. Watch the evening sky blaze orange through these west-facing windows as you unwind after your day. In the kitchen, you'll find all the modern amenities. A stainless down-draft 4-burner gas stove, stainless fridge, microwave, dishwasher, disposal, coffee maker, and large two-vessel sink. Two large granite counters provide ample space for food preparation, and a large granite bar with four stools allows for great socializing while you cook! The small dining area boasts a beautiful wood panel drop-ceiling, metal mountains adorning the walls, dimmable lights, and a gorgeous sheesham wood table and chairs. The laundry room is on this main level, with a stackable washer / dryer and large utility sink. We've also installed a murphy bed on the main level. Hidden behind a decorative wall, you'd never even know it was there. We've included a walk-in tile shower in the main level bath so that anyone sleeping in the murphy bed has a full bathroom nearby.
The second floor is loft-style, open to the main floor below. It's here that you'll find the two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed, two closets, and a large walk-in tiled double shower and double vanity. In an effort to maintain the fantastic daylight from the large picture windows, the master bedroom opens to the main floor below by a large frosted-glass garage door. Keep it open for total flow, or simply close the door for privacy when sharing the house with others. The guest bedroom also has a king bed, closet and large set of drawers, and a full bathroom with tub / tiled shower nearby. Again, to capture the fantastic daylight and open flow, we used two frosted glass rolling barn doors as access to the guest bedroom.
The third floor is accessed by a beautiful spiral staircase, overhanging the area below. You'll find the top floor to be the spot for either work or play! A large butcher block desk faces east with unobstructed views of the Bridger mountains. Enjoy the sunrise as you sip your coffee and get some work done. Or, unwind at the end of the day with the custom-built billiards table, a game of darts, flat screen TV, and large cushioned bench seating. For those sunny evenings, put your feet up as you relax on the couch or enjoy your evening meal at the dining table / chairs on the glorious roof deck. Look down on the Mill District below, and gaze out over the stretch of the Bridger mountains nearby. The roof deck is the ultimate relaxation spot!
After spending four years building this home, we want to be sure it's properly cared for and well maintained. We will not allow smoking or pets. One parking space will be provided with the rental. Although the unit is well insulated / sound proofed, this is a condo with a business below and neighbors with adjoining walls... therefore, we are looking for renters who will be respectful of shared spaces in regards to cleanliness and noise levels. Please make note of the following :
HEADS UP :
** This is an open floor plan, designed for small groups. Noise does travel within the loft.
** There are many stairs in our loft, and the floors are concrete. This may not be the best choice for young children or elderly folks. Please be advised : the spiral staircase and concrete floors can be slippery.
** Our floors can be chilly, which is a great thing in the summer months! But it's a good idea to pack slippers or some insulating footwear for in the home.
** We are located near an active rail line, and you will hear the train throughout the night.

- There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a large bathroom and closet, all within its private walls. The guest bedroom uses a bathroom that is accessed on the hallway. There is a queen sized murphy bed, should sleeping arrangements dictate the need for another bed. With this in mind, we do hold tightly to our 4-person maximum, and will not allow more people to stay in the house....moreless

About the owner: Dave and I have been wintering in the Bozeman area since 2003, but were always about an hour outside of town. In 2011, we purchased the Loft as a shell, and have spent the last four winters building it out. What an exciting project to create a space from scratch! Over the last few years, we've fallen in love with the space, the neighborhood, the community, and all that Bozeman has to offer. Since we spend the summer months in Alaska, we've decided we'd like to open our home to visitors while we're away. The great thing about staying with us is that we are who you will deal with from start to finish. We own the house and handle all the reservations. It's nice to know that you're not dealing with some distant owner or large booking agency. It's just us. And Julee : our local contact for all your needs while you're in Bozeman during the summer.
