Enjoy this space to be creative, to relax or be active. Make art or write. Practice yoga or move to your music coming from the amazing sound system. Bike, kayak or canoe.
Then take a short walk over the hill to the Hotel Mac for a cocktail and prime rib dinner, or the Up and Under Rugby Pub for quiz night with a bunch of anglophiles. Choose from several restaurants.
Birding. Since we live on a cliff, onshore breezes from Marin bunch up to create a consistent updraft that draws hawks, herons, and egrets right to our front window. On the water you'll see cormorants, pelicans, gulls, grebes, coots can be seen, especially when the herring run. And even the occasional owl or osprey in search of a delectable mouse.
Use our binoculars to watch the ballet of tugboats pirouetting tankers and cargo ships, ferries cutting a quick path across the Bay, or regattas of sailboats flying their colorful spinnakers before the Spring breezes.
Take a bike ride out to Keller Beach and the beautiful Miller Knox park, along the newly inaugurated 500-mile long Bay Trail. Visit Rosie the Riveter or the Richmond Marina - the closest marina to the Golden Gate from the East Bay.
For your second night, take nearby BART to San Francisco for all it has to offer.
Enjoy yourself in one of the world's premier urban environments while relaxing at this beautiful waterfront location too. Best of both worlds!
Kit is a retired high school principal and artist. Jeff is a retired math professor. We are having all kinds of fun making this space cool, and meeting the folks who come to enjoy it.

Why not? To live in one of the world's most exciting urban areas PLUS be right on the water is a dream come true. Point Richmond is the hidden jewel of San Francisco Bay. Why deal with the hub-bub of Sausalito, Berkeley or the Marina District in the City, when you can hang in the Richmond Riviera, a tiny village with 4 bars, 8 restaurants, 3 yacht club / marinas, historic public pool, library and miles upon miles of little-used public bay shoreline and parks? And all within striking distance of the City, Marin, Berkeley and Oakland?
It's all about the water, the view and the closeness to everything wonderful about the Bay Area. Bonus for being located in a charming small town.
The property was exactly as pictured, with floor to ceiling windows facing the bay. We arrived a little early but the host was welcoming and recommended two excellent cafes in town for lunch. Once we returned, Jeff made sure we were settled and then disappeared, assuring us he was available should any need arise. The host's living quarters are attached to the rental, but we found everything we needed to enjoy our weekend. The listing is like visiting a friend's home...very comfortable and thoughtfully accommodating. We hope to return someday. The only adjustment I would recommend is a coffee maker. We were googling how to use the press (thanks You Tube)!! And thanks Kit and Jeff for sharing your lovely home.
Behind the pictures that we found on the website and that already convinced us that we would spend a great moment... we found even more with such a warm and generous welcome from our hosts.
Well... just a sixt stars place!
Kit's home was absolutely perfect! I can't believe we found such an amazing place on the water with wonderful views and such a relaxing setting so close to the city. Kit was super helpful in planning and such a joy to meet. Her place was immaculate and it was a wonderful refreshing get away in a sunny, airy, relaxing setting. Being able to get out and kayak or simply sit and relax while looking out over the bay was perfect!
Excellent rental immaculately maintained with splendid water views. This is a truly comfortable rental with all one could want for a relaxing or romantic getaway. It sits below the main house and has sweeping views of the bay across to Marin County. Easy drive to everything. It is perfect for two people - three would be a stretch because the space offers no privacy except the bathroom. The kitchen is divine and top of the line but it could use a few more pots and pans (suggest adding a baking sheet, oven mits and a pan that can be used in the oven). I especially appreciated the small stacks of well chosen books and the photographs and art that were on the walls. It gave the space a distinctive owners feel which made one feel they were staying with a friend. It was too cold to use the boats but the deck and the studio room were great places to soak up the pleasure of staying on the water. Note to remember - you must navigate a series of steps down to the loft with your luggage. Book it- it delivers.
An absolute stunner in Pt. Richmond with everything you need.... views, decks, music, water access, double shower, sunning 'pier', and enough comfortable nooks to hole up for a romantic getaway. All decorated with works from local artists that make you wonder why you've never ventured to Pt. Richmond before. Thanks for opening your home to us, we may just be back....
My wife and I were looking for a quiet romantic spot with a nice view and this was just the place. Unique and stylish, we loved the ocean view and the sliding doors as we listened to smooth Jazz and felt the ocean breezes. We enjoyed watching the car headlights twinkle as traffic crossed over the Richmond Bridge. Thanks Kit for your hospitality and sharing your home with us. Hilton and Cindy
The uniqueness of this space is its location within the SF bay area. To be on the water in such a fantastic metropolitan area and just 30 minutes from the city and 40 minutes from the wine country and Muir Woods. Special location!
