Big Green Lake
Nice well kept home. The house is in Beyers Cove which is quiet and away from all the heavy boat traffic. Just a short boat ride to the main lake.
good access to the lake down a mild hill
modern & clean, good kitchen, well furnished, has tv's but needs radio!
also needs side tables for beds, everything works
Home had a great layout, super nice yard, the dock worked great for our boat.
Great spot. Quiet. Adequate room for 12 people.
Property generally well maintained except deck needs some work - there’s some loose spindles which could be a problem with little kids. Also, kitchen utensils need to be upgraded - better/sharper knives, fry pans are old, could use a cookie sheet. Very nice washer/dryer. Plenty of towels. Lower level doesn’t have a/c ducts although fans were provided. Dishwasher door sticks. Management very responsive to our questions/requests.
Impress with up keep of the house
Close to home, yet a world away from daily life, Green Lake is the ideal spot to relax for the weekend. Forget about traffic, crowds and any hassles. It’s time to truly get away. With just over 1000 year-round residents it is an amazing small town at the northeast end of Wisconsin’s natural deepest inland lake. Green Lake is 237 feet deep at its deepest point, has an average depth of approximately 100 feet, is crystal clear, 7.3 miles long, 2 miles wide and has 27.3 miles of shoreline. Golf courses are world class and lots of entertainment options are available. Best of all, Green Lake is wide open, crowd-free and accessible.
Year-round recreational opportunities like fishing, sailing, swimming, diving, kayaking, skating, ice boating and lake cruises are available. Not to mention non-water-based recreational activities like golf, hiking, tennis, mini-golf, biking, horseback riding, hot-air balloon rides, public and private hunting grounds, an art gallery and a fruit orchard. The city park system offers boat launches, athletic fields, playgrounds and swimming beaches. Dodge Memorial County Park also referred to as “County Park”, is the largest of three beaches and located at the southwest end of Big Green Lake on County Road K. Dodge Memorial Park has a children’s park area swings, bouncy toys, and sand for children to play. The park has a large area for picnicking with stationary charcoal grills provided throughout. There are onsite bathrooms and a changing house located in the center of the park. The park offers a covered area with picnic tables for family gatherings. There are three boat launches located at the west end of the park. The beach is excellent for small children as they can play in the sand or wade in the shallow sandy bottom waters. Volleyball and other yard games can be played an the lawns of the park.
Lawsonia Golf Course offers two separate and distinct courses providing a good challenge and some great beauty to enjoy while playing golf. This is the place to golf if you want to loose yourself in nature. Great course, amazing setting, the "Rural Pebble Beach". It's okay to walk the whole course and loose, and be ok with it because it's so beautiful.
Green Lake has many activities and events that occur throughout the year. The Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce provides a description of these events and a calendar of events on their website at www.visitgreenlake.com.
