About Stephanie Dzikowski

Jim and I purchased this property 10 years ago and simply love it. We are from NJ and do not have anything like the St. Lawrence River near us anywhere! When friends invited us up, we fell in love with Clayton and purchased this property 8 months later. At the time of purchase we had two small children, we now have four boys and it is the perfect place for boys who love to fish, swim, kayak, go boating and just be outside. We do not have video games there either!!! and the boys survive!!!

Stephanie Dzikowski purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Stephanie Dzikowski chose Thousand Islands

We chose this property because it is right on the St. Lawrence River and Riverside Cottage Association is known as being a tight community where everyone looks out for each other. Everyone is very friendly, some are up all summer, some on weekends and only a couple cottages rent so the faces are always familiar.

What makes this cottage unique

WATERFRONT with DOCK SPACE!! Corner lot so room to move and walking distance (about a mile) to town.

Very nice cottage

  • 5 of 5

We decided to rent this cottage for our vacation in the 1000 Islands region. We were both from the region so were familiar with the area. This cottage has a very nice view! Quaint, comfortable cottage good parking, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I spoke with the owner prior to our arrival and she seems like a very nice accommodating person. She really wants you to enjoy their cottage and have a great time. Fishing from the dock, kayaks and paddle boat were available as well as boat rentals next door. I would not hesitate to rent this again! Probably one of the best vacations we have had in awhile. Reasonable rates too. The description was right on the money. If you don't stay here you are missing out!

THE cottage

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stay there for a short time and found the cottage very clean, the TV was a plus in the evening, though the fishing wasn't good , this happens from time to time we will try and get up again next year now we are familiar with the area the owner was good to deal with and the photos didn't lie!!!

Map

Clayton New York is a quiet little fishing town on the St. Lawrence River. The town has most of it's original buildings with so much charm while new updated hotels and restaurants have been added as well. As a hot-spot for tourism years ago, it's making it's way back to be a upstate New York favorite. The river is a hidden treasure for folks who escape the hustle and bustle for R&R.

Notes:
The St. Lawrence River is known by many upstate New Yorkers as a great get-away... but many folks from the East coast have never seen scenery like this! Rent a boat for the week, dock it steps away and do some island hopping! Visit the Antique Boat Museum, the Boateak, travel through the Canadian Channel where islands are only big enough to hold a little cottage and maybe a chair! Crystal clear water so green you feel like you are in the Caribbean! Take your boat to little beaches and experience some river fun. Potter's Beach on Grindstone Island, Picnic Point is a great place to dock and fish and do some island exploration. Anchor your boat at Picton Island and enjoy swimming in crystal clear water with a white sandy bottom. Visit the famous Boldt Castle, Singer Castle, or relax on a boat tour and explore Millionaire's Row. Travel nearby to Thousand Island Park...an old town with colorful gingerbread homes. Canada is just a ferry or car ride away, and sunsets are not to be missed!
