We have a lovely ground level suite in our house just 15 minutes walk to restaurants, bars and shopping on Commercial Drive, and to a major transit hub that can take you Downtown, to The University of BC, or to the airport, or if you prefer, a 50 metre walk to the nearest bus stop which will have you downtown in 20 minutes.

A 20 minute walk to some of the best live theatre in Canada at The Cultch.

A 15 minute walk to beautiful Trout Lake for a stroll or picnic.

A 25 minute walk to the up and coming East Village at Hastings St for more great eating and drinking. This is in short, a great neighbourhood!

Our 1 bedroom suite comes with a full kitchen and everything you need to enjoy it should you desire to. There is Wifi, a flat screen Smart TV, cd and dvd player as well. The bedroom comes with a Queen bed and ample closet space.

The bathroom features a 2 person soaker tub with air jets, a rain style shower and heated floors.

Regretfully, we ** DO NOT ** offer a washer and dryer. There is a laundromat nearby with drop-off service.

There is a lovely garden outside the suite entrance with a place to sit and enjoy the sunset.

The house is a quiet place, so you will be guaranteed to be able to rest well.

There is ample free parking on the street in front of our house.

Why Mark Gruft chose Vancouver

We bought this house together after we got married. The previous owners did a fantastic job of renovating this character home and it was obvious how much love they had put into it. It's a great neighbourhood not only for it's location but for the diversity of the people, who are friendly and welcoming.

Great East Vancouver Location

Very nice suite located in East Vancouver in a very beautiful area. Interior of suite is almost brand new and has everything you need. Couple who own the suite are very helpful. Close to bus and sky train if you don't want to use a car.

Wonderful stay at clean, convenient home!

We had an outstanding trip, and the rental was great! Mark met us as soon as we got there and was incredibly helpful and welcoming. The rental was extremely clean and modern. It was at a great location, close to lots of public transit options. We had no problems whatsoever and would highly recommend this rental.

Clean well appointed East Side garden suite.

Mark & Geri's suite is very comfortable, loved the attention to detail that they have put into the apartment. The kitchen is has lots to offer for cooking.

The lovely garden is just one of the welcoming detail that the suite provides. The suite was great for our trip to Vancouver.

Courteous host and wonderful accommodations!

Mark was a great host! We stayed three nights (Thursday, June 8th through Sunday, June 11th). The suite is on the ground floor of Mark and Geraldine's house. There is street parking in front of the house.

Mark was easy to stay in contact with before and during our stay via text message. We arrived later in the evening on the 8th, and Mark was ready for us. He had suggestions for us on places to visit and places to eat. His best recommendation was to visit Lynn Canyon Park and the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge (FREE) instead of going to Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge ($$$)! We spent hours hiking through Lynn Canyon instead.

The bathtub was heavenly and easily fit two people. The wi-fi worked great, and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was fully functional, though we didn't really use it too much.

The only drawback was some minor creaking from upstairs that could be heard, but if you're not a light sleeper, it shouldn't bother you (my wife didn't hear it, and I only heard it when I was awake).

We used this location as our "home base" for a few days while visiting Vancouver and Whistler. I would definitely stay again!

PERFECT PLACE TO STAY

We were so pleased with this property. It was extremely clean and well kept.Mark was so helpful in making sure everything went smoothly. The location is close to public transportation, and walking distance to gas stations and restaurants. No complaints very happy with our stay. Highly recommend.

Looking forward going back to next year!

For us the location and rental were excellent. Easy access to buses, not too far from downtown (except in rush hour!) and Granville Island. Our hosts were very pleasant and made sure we had eveything we needed.
