Amazing views from all windows in our home! Cozy home with 3 bedrooms all having beautiful handmade mountain furniture, comfy mattresses and high thread count sheets. Two of the bedrooms have connecting bathrooms. The master suite has a claw foot tub and shower with incredible views. The downstairs bedroom has a bathroom with tub and shower ready for adults and kids.

Our living area is cozy with lots of views, TV, games and a great set up for just hanging out and enjoying each others company. The dining area has a very large handmade mountain table with seating for 12. Could be more with small kids.

The kitchen is fully stocked with lots of extras including a smoothie maker, crock pots, fondue pot, coffee grinder, belgium waffle maker, etc. The stove has five burners with the sixth being a large oval burner for cooking on grill or griddle (also provided). We have place settings for 12. Leftover containers, foil, plastic wrap and baggies are also provided. We have not skimped on the quality of the kitchen wear.

We are also well stocked for families traveling with kids, toddlers and babies. We have a pack and play, stroller, high chair, potty chair and step stool, rock and play, baby to toddler bathtub, toys, bath toys and books.

Teenagers are not left out. We have books for them, movies, an Xbox with games and a Sega Genesis stand alone with built in games. And last, but not least, for them, we have good Wi-Fi service. The downstairs room is a perfect get away for them or the guys with a 75inch TV and DVD player. There is two large leather sofas, and two leather chairs with ottomans for seating. One of the sofas, pulls out into one of our fabulous Comfort Sleepers.

The laundry room is stocked with a very nice large capacity washer and dryer, detergent and dryer sheets. There is also a rod for hanging clothes with hangers provided.

There is a large mudroom with it's own access into the house. There is a long handmade mountain bench for getting those skis or muddy shoes off, boot dryers for ski boots and lots of shoe trays. Many hooks in this room and throughout the entire home. You will also find a beverage center in the mudroom for all your beverages, allowing more space in the refrigerator located in the kitchen.

The outside deck is a great place to be anytime of day. The hot tub seats six and is quite comfortable. We have an electric grill/smoker. We have seating for several with seating around a fire pit just steps off the deck. Again, all with amazing views.

About Walter and Shelley Lamle

We are a family of four from Oklahoma that travels with extra family and friends all the time. We love Colorado, especially Southwest Colorado and love this location and home!

This location for us is so great because it's breathtakingly beautiful, the summers have the best weather and there's so much to to here, plus the winters are their own kind of gorgeous with the snow peaked mountains and all the great winter activities.

This particular location is so wonderful because it's in a very peaceful setting with lots of privacy, but you can also be to Durango in 25 minutes and Pagosa Springs in 40 minutes.

Walter and Shelley Lamle purchased this house in 2014

What makes this house unique

Gated area for guaranteed privacy.

Our home sits on 35 acres of beauty.

Mountain home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

The views from Doc's Heavenly Vista are heavenly! The fully equipped kitchen was perfect for our family dinners each evening. We enjoyed

relaxing in the hot tub after long days

of adventure. The big screen TV was perfect for Sunday Night Football. We also enjoyed the wide selection of movies, video games and board games. Thanks to Walter and Shelley for allowing us to enjoy their beautiful home, we can't wait until our next visit.

Mountain Home with Amazing Views

  • 5 of 5

Amazing view, fully stocked kitchen, very comfortable living areas and bedrooms. Excellent house for kids and adults. Only bummer was community rules didn't allow for firepit use during the summer. Views of the night stars from the hot tub mostly made up for that minor issue though. Love the house, wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we make it back to the area.

Favorite vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

This was our third year in a row to stay at Doc's Heavenly Vista. This year we took my whole family including my parents, brother and his family. There were 11 people total. Doc's had plenty of room for all of us. We also had plenty of room to get away and relax away from the group. The weather was beautiful it was warm during the day and cool during the night. We would sit on the back porch and watch the Sun go down. There was plenty to do around Doc's Vista we went for hikes during the day ate dinner around the large dining room table and watched a Family movie almost nightly. This year we met a friendly squirrel and named her Lois she would come up to us and eat out of our hand. It was the highlight of our kids stay. Three years in a row Doc's Heavenly Vista has been where we've made our family vacation memories we will continue to do the same again next year!

The best cabin we've ever stayed at!

  • 5 of 5

If I could give this cabin 10 stars I would! We've been renting cabins for years and this one is just perfect. Unfortunately, it's a long drive for us, (from Phoenix) otherwise we'd stay here all the time.:)

It's got everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, you need. The kitchen is stocked up with plenty of dishes, pots, pants, and even dishes for little kids! There are plenty of blankets, pillows, and throws to keep you warm. There is even an xbox with plenty of games and a ton of children's books! Loved the big table in the dining room! It seated everyone for meals and board games! :)

The views are absolutely breathtaking! We watched a couple of thunderstorms roll in, that was quite a show! The cabin is also very close to Vallecito lake where you can rent kayaks and boats.

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin!

Just a 15 minute drive away is Lake Vallecito. This lake is one of Colorado's largest. It is breathtakingly beautiful snuggled in between two mountain ridges and located just 23 miles northeast of Durango.

The lake has many game fish including Northern Pike, Salmon and Trout. The lake has a local marina and access to the lake is free for all types of recreation. You can rent pontoon boats, fishing gear and tubes Along the shore, you will find several eateries and small shops.

Durango has so many things to do! Including, the 1880's Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad - it's a beautiful and fun ride. Shopping Old Town Durango is fabulous as well. Durango also boasts more restaurants per square mile than even San Francisco.

Travel north out of Durango toward Silverton to drive the million dollar highway that leads to Ouray. It's quite the amazing and beautiful drive. Or stay in Durango for the dinner hour and enjoy the Bar-D Chuckwagon supper and show. Excellent golf courses and several museum round out this list. Just so much to do!

Purgatory Ski Resort is located just north of Durango. Great for skiing and snowboarding in the winter and in the off season, a great playground including zip lines, bunge jumping, gyro chairs, alpine slides, water runners, scenic chairlift rides, mechanical bull, climbing wall, miniature golf, family ropes course, mountain bike uplift, and so much more.

A two hour drive west and south from our home will land you at the Four Corners. Here you can be in four states at the same time....Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona. The Navajo Indians also have several booths where you can shop their wears. Fabulous!

A one hour drive from the house is the Mesa Verde Anasazi Ruins. Often touted as a top 50 must see.

Pagosa Springs is 35 miles from our home. There you will find Wolf Creek Ski resort, shopping, river tubing, hot air balloon rides, golf and the healing hot waters of the springs.

Four wheeling/ATV riding is a must in our family and the possibilities here are endless. So many trails! We have a guide at our home that leads you to trails good for ATV's, snowmobiles, hiking, etc....

The San Juan National Forest and the Weminuche Wilderness has over 2.5 million acres of public lands.

Bayfield is a small quiet town, Perfect for our beautiful scenic setting with amazing views. In the town of Bayfield are several great restaurants, listed above. There is also a very nice park for the family where you can splash around in the Los Pinos River.

Fishing is also close by here in the Pinos River and Vallecito River. Both within minutes of our home.

For a little further drive, the Navajo Reservoir in Farmington, New Mexico boasts of some of the best fly fishing in the country.

And then, a further piece down the road (6 hours) is the Grand Canyon!
