Sparkling, thoughtfully arranged home
My family of 5 adults loved being at Fairhaven for 4 nights. The house is in a great neighborhood; we were able to walk to other family gatherings nearby. Loved the organic, local breakfast ingredients waiting for us so we didn't have to run out and get those. Beds comfortable and endless hot water!!! No TV or microwave, so if you depend on those items for comfort, this may not be for you. Our family did yoga on the hardwood floors and played Trivial Pursuit with the game provided and were extremely happy.
Great house to rent
Great house for a couples weekend. Good location, clean, good breakfast. Only downside is single bathroom.
Ecofriendly, great location, good value
The hosts are very friendly and give guests a thorough introduction and overview of the place, rules, places to visit, breakfast preparations, restaurant recommendations, etc. We liked the fact that they compost and use organic food as much as possible. We are used to composting so it was not difficult for us but I can imagine that this may be new to some. The room sizes and accommodations are adequate, the only down side is the use of one shared bathroom for all six of us staying in the house. The hosts also have a cat, and I forgot to mention to the hosts that my kids and husband are allergic to cats so brought some allergy meds just in case. I did not have to worry, the rooms were pet-free and very clean. The information in their website was comprehensive and included information about their cat! We also liked their restaurant recommendations. We were not able to find the recommended Mexican restaurant, only because the GPS did not locate it (look for it along Meade St. even though the address in Google is in Carlton Ave.). We also found the home very convenient to Monticello, which was the main reason we went to Charlottesville!
