Overview

About the property

Perfect for events, large groups, and family reunions. Minutes from downtown.

This home an unbelievable treasure. It is a brick home built in 1886 during the Victorian era and was one of Salt Lake City's first farmland estates. Although the farmland has changed over time, the Brighton Farm Victorian Villa remains the neighborhood's earliest piece of period architecture. It has been newly restored and renovated with the best of everything, bringing you an unprecedented experience in an historic home.

It is a large home on three floors, spacious and accommodating for large groups. It has beautiful high ceilings, a living room/great room, kitchen with eating nook, four bedrooms, a loft, family room on the lower level, and two gorgeous bathrooms with hot water on demand.

The house has a high energy whisper furnace, so you'll never hear a sound when it goes on. There is a high efficiency tankless hot water system so you and your guests will never run out of hot water no matter how many are in the house or how many showers you take. :-)

All the beds are brand new and excellent quality tempurpedic and pillow top mattresses. Each bed is protected with a freshly laundered protect-a-bed waterproof mattress cover.

This is a beautifully decorated home with lovely beds, linens, and furnishings. Additionally, there is a large indoor storage area just inside the lower level back door for your skis, bikes, and gear.

There is plenty of room for your family and friends to enjoy Utah's world class skiing or exquisite summer beauty from this well located home base.

About Rhea & Jackson

We where married in August of 2008 and in November of 2008 we bought this home. What then ensued was a very interesting and overwhelming journey of a complete home remodel. We replaced everything in the home including the foundation. Luckily both the home and our marriage survived the remodel :)

VRBO is such a fun way for us to share our love of beautiful places. The art of vacationing is the stress free enjoyment of time spent with those you love in a place that you love to be. We love hosting those who come to visit this amazing city we have every confidence that you will love your experience here.

Rhea & Jackson purchased this house in 2008

Why Rhea & Jackson chose Salt Lake City

Poplar Grove, borders the Jordan river and has several public parks, including the International Peace Gardens within blocks. Once a large farm and orchard in the late 1800's, the neighborhood has developed into a mixed-use use community.

The SLC International Airport is only 7 minutes from this home. Downtown and the renoun Temple Square (the Mormon Tabernacle Choir practices and performs here) is just minutes away, access to major and connecting freeways is close by and convenient, and world class ski resorts are 20-25 minutes away from the property.

Beautiful, clean and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The house was absolutely gorgeous. Everything was so clean and organized. The beds were so comfortable. It definitely had everything we needed and more. I wish we could have stayed more than one night!

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 18 individuals, 1/2 teens and 1/2 adults, who came to SLC from Virginia for the purpose of doing mission work at a local Compassion center. Rhea and Jackson's home was convenient to the airport, to where we were working, and to all activities in the SLC area. The house slept our large group comfortably, and it was immaculate and decorated beautifully. The house is quite impressive and there is more room than appears from the outside. The only drawback we found was that there was no single common area inside the house big enough for our (unusually large) group of 18 to assemble together. But, the weather was good and the back patio area with the fire pit was a great place for morning coffee and after dinner conversation. We only had one issue when a breaker tripped fixing breakfast (we had too many appliances going) and the box was inaccessible to us. We texted Rhea and she was there in minutes to correct the problem, and she was very gracious even though I am sure we disrupted her morning. I have to say this was one of the nicest experiences I have ever had in renting a home, and I would recommend Rhea and Jackson's home whole-heartedly.

Beautiful Home - Neighborhood sketchy

  • 4 of 5

We went to Salt Lake for our vacation this year and this is a beautiful home. The house makes you feel at home and the rooms & beds are spacious and comfortable. Gives you privacy on each level. There were 10 of us and it accommodated us perfect. The neighborhood was sketchy but the house was close to everything. The street the house faces was busier than I would have liked considering I have two small children, but overall the stay was wonderful.

Beautiful, comfortable home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 15 spent 4 nights in this beautiful home. Although the house does not look spacious from the outside, we had more than enough beds and were impressed that there was even enough seating in the kitchen and dining room for meals. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed for cooking and serving, and the appliances are very nice.

There were ample towels and linens, plenty of seating and places to relax, a great (and quiet) air conditioning system, and a cute backyard with a fire pit. The bedrooms and bathrooms were tastefully decorated and most importantly were CLEAN. The linens smelled fresh and the floors and surfaces gleamed. We felt totally at home and will definitely return on our next trip to Salt Lake City.

Beautifully renovated home!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this home very much. Our daughter (15) walked in and thought it was the cutest house she had ever seen. It took her a while to decide where to sleep there were so many options! The owners have gone above and beyond to provide everything you might need for your stay - from shampoo and body wash in the bathroom to spices in the kitchen. They have done a wonderful job renovating the home. The owners were very responsive and even provided restaurant recommendations.
