About the property

1920's cottage with modern kitchen, bath and new queen bed

Luxurious, charming, unique, and perfect.

The almost 500-square-foot house at Snow Hill Street is the North End’s tiniest standalone single-family. It’s also one of the 10 tiniest houses in Boston, period.

Despite its diminutive size, Snow Hill certainly packs a lot in. There’s a bedroom loft with a new queen bed for one thing, and a full modern kitchen. There is also a new large tiled shower and a comfy living room with rocking chair. There’s even a fireplace and a private patio where you can have your morning coffee or sip some wine.

From the cast iron spiral staircase that takes you up to the cozy bedroom loft, to The living room adorned with old world rough pine paneling and a brick fireplace.

Located in the heart of Boston's historic North End, this single cottage, flooded with natural light from the skylights, was originally used as a sculptor's studio in the early 1960's.

For the past 95 years this property has been one of the most charming residences in the North End.

The modern full kitchen is ready to serve a delicious home made meal, that can be eaten either outside on the beautiful flower designed patio or inside on the new glass dining table, either way you choose, you dine in comfort.

The bathroom is very modern and luxurious with a subway tiled large shower with a Carrera marble bench seat and heated floors.

The dining area seats four and the living area has a double recliner, and an antique rocking chair, where you can sit back and relax as you watch the Sony 40" smart TV, or listen to our collection of music Cd's, or you can watch a movie on the Blu ray player with the collection of movies we have available.

After a day of walking the Freedom Trail you will retire comfortably to

The bedroom loft with it's new queen size bed with gel foam mattress, a laptop work desk is available for those who wish to read their Email or surf the internet.

A large dresser will store your clothes so you don't have to live out of your suit case.

Outside awaits one of the nicest rooms we offer, A comfortable patio with a table, umbrella and chairs, where you you can enjoy feasting on your home cooked meals, or just

relaxing and sipping your morning espresso or your evening glass of wine.

The North End, Boston’s “Little Italy,” is famous for its Italian food and feasts. It is Boston’s oldest neighborhood, a one-square-mile waterfront community not far from Faneuil Hall with a population of about 10,000.

With close to 100 restaurants, Pastry shops and boutiques, you just can't go wrong if you like to eat and shop

.At the top of the hill lies a dog park for those who bring Fido and a parking garage is also located at the end of the street.

The Four great reasons to visit the North End:

1) The history.

2) The food

3) The Feasts

4) The architecture

The Old North Church, Paul Revere's house, the USS Constitution, Bunker Hill,Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall, Beacon Hill, the Boston Waterfront, the Financial District, The Boston Commons, TD Garden, ( The Home of the Celtics and Bruins), Fenway Park, (the home of the Boston Red Sox),The Old State House, And some of the most distinguished colleges and hospitals in the U.S., Harvard, MIT, BU. About Joseph and Susan DeFazio Property owners

I spent the early part of my youth living in the North End. My family owned a home just up the street from the Cottage on Hull St.

I attended Saint Anthony's, Saint Mary's and Christopher Columbus High School all located in the North End. We attended

Sunday mass at either Saint Leonard's or Saint Mary's churches, My mother loved the children's Choirs at these churches and we would split our time between them.

My family moved to the South Shore in the late sixties due to my fathers job change. Thou we moved out of the North End my relatives still lived there and we visited frequently at least once a month.

I have always loved the North End and returned there to visit my Aunts and walk the neighborhood streets every chance I could get.

Joseph and Susan DeFazio Property owners purchased this cottage in 1973

Why Joseph and Susan DeFazio Property owners chose North End

The Enchanted Cottage is right off the Freedom Trail and right around the corner from the Old North church, within walking distance to everything that you came to Boston to experience.

This cottage is not just a rental but a family home that has been part of my family for over 40 years. It is unique in that it is a single family home and not an apartment, it also has an outside patio and does not require you to climb two or three flights of stairs.

What makes this cottage unique

The Enchanted Cottage is a single family home with a wonderful patio, where you can sit out side and enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine,

Where you can enjoy a conversation with the friendly residents of the area or the Boston visitors who always stop and ask about the cottage.

The 420-square-foot house at 54 Snow Hill Street is the North End’s tiniest standalone single-family. It’s also one of the 10 tiniest houses in Boston, period.

Despite its diminutive size, Snow Hill certainly packs a lot in. There’s a bedroom loft, for one thing, and a full kitchen. There is also a full bathroom and a living room. There’s even a fireplace and a private patio.

Warm and welcoming

Pure luxury and comfort all in one. The cottage was so exquisitely decorated. Joe and Sue are the best host! I arrived in wee hours of the morning, and Joe made sure to have a flash light out for me! The fridge was stocked the cubbard full, the bed was so comfortable.

Having all the luxury items, fully uodated, luxury appointment's. I travel around the world, but the North End is my birthplace, where my childhood memories still live in my heart, being in the cottage, brought back the feeling being at my grandmothers, the memory of Sunday gravey, and polenta and macaroni boiling. Even enjoyed lighting the flire, and watched "The Sound of Music" and felt as if I was right at home.

The cottage will he my first choice when staying down the North End.

Thank you Joe and Sue. Ciao

Such a cozy cottage convenient to everything and one minute away from family! Fridge and pantry stocked with everything we needed, down to special bakery treats! Comfy bed and bathroom was stocked with anything you may hve forgotten to pack! Didn’t need a car, walked everywhere, and nice to come back to warm cottage at end of day. Very nice.

The BEST Place to Stay in Boston. Look No Further.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in many VRBOs and this truly enchanted cottage was the absolute best yet.

The adorable tiny house was well-stocked, and the owners generously filled the refrigerator and pantry with tons of extras. I have never seen so many snacks and your standard go-tos (milk, eggs, bread, cold drinks, etc.) in a VRBO and was extremely impressed and grateful. We arrived late at night and were tired and hungry, so it was so nice to come “home” to everything we could possibly need. And that goes for toiletries too! Ladies: everything you need will be there for you! I forgot dry shampoo—my favorite kind was there on the shelf! And there are things for the guys too—you really do not need to pack much at all.

Some things to know:

• No car needed! We only took an Uber once and that was coming back from Salem. (HIGHLY recommend taking the ferry there! Gorgeous views and you’ll learn a lot about Boston!)

• There are plenty of towels and washcloths for you to use in the house. The bathroom is very nice!

• When I say we could walk everywhere, we walked EVERYWHERE. We lucked out with gorgeous weather every day and even walked all the way to Harvard. You will be in walking distance to all the amazing restaurants, bakeries and delis nearby, within steps of The Freedom Trail and if you want to catch a Celtics game at the Garden, you’re right there!

• If you ever feel lost walking around the city or had a few too many glasses of wine, you can just follow the Freedom Trail home! 😊

• The hosts are very helpful and always a phone call, text or email away!

We already miss this incredible house. We truly don’t think we could have found a better place to stay in Boston—it was perfect. We look forward to renting again on our next trip to Boston! I can’t wait!

Charming, well stocked, cozy cottage in the North End

  • 5 of 5

We spent 9 fun filled days using this luxury tiny house as our base in Boston. The owners made it very easy to access the cottage and had provided ample groceries for breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner for a few days. The kitchen and bathroom were both VERY nice and fully stocked with everything needed to make our stay enjoyable! Furnishings were very nice and bed linens/towels etc were top quality. We felt we were staying in a unique quaint but luxurious Boston cottage. This place was so convenient....easy 5 to 10 walking distance to wonderful restaurants, great little bars and fantastic salumerias/delis and Italian bakeries. The harbor is literally a block away! We enjoyed meeting the owners at Regina's Pizzeria for some WICKED good pizza and good conversation. Our stay in the cottage made us feel right at home in Boston....we hope to return in the future!
