About Katie Rottier

We are Peter and Katie, both from Madison, WI and went to college together in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Peter grew up coming to Cable with his family for summer vacations, where they fell in love with Lake Namakagon decades ago. Our favorite things about the cabin are watching amazing orange and pink sunsets, eagles soaring through the sky, and leisurely boat rides to grab lunch or cocktails on one of the many restaurants on the lake. Other family members also own cabins on the lake, making this place truly unique and a special place to start our own family memories and inspire yours!

We have two small children, Lucas (4) and Reagan (2), who love the cabin too, especially nature walks with grandpa, tubing with their uncles, and getting ice cream downtown Cable. We live by San Francisco, California permanently, and get back to the cabin 2-3 times a year, wish it was more! We plan to retire here part time some day.

What makes this cabin unique

We have renovated and decorated this cabin with love, as if we stayed here all the time, this is not your run of the mill rental. Small details make all the difference and we love the cozy and inviting feel this up north retreat offers our family and yours.

Beautiful, peaceful, charming cabin

  • 5 of 5

I read a couple books over the week in the different sitting places around the cabin. On the deck or in the screened in porch - it was lovely. Bedding was super comfy. Katie allowed us to bring our dogs which we enjoyed. We had a wonderful time.

Wonderful cottage on the lake

  • 4 of 5

Modern, clean and comfortable cottage with a great location. The view on the lake was great, and being close to Cable, WI made our stay better than we could have expected. The kitchen is modern and well equipped for group meals. Lots of comfy seating in the living room. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of parking. We stayed during winter and couldn't take advantage of the dock, but we were able ride our fatbikes on the frozen lake. We've rented other cottages in the area and this was the best yet!

Relaxing Lake Namakagon retreat

  • 5 of 5

The place has a beautiful view on the lake. It is situated on a beautiful point, and the breeze is wonderful when available. Thank you for spraying the mosquitoes as a 5 mile walk in the forest demonstrated what they could be like. The bedrooms are roomy with a room air conditioner in the main floor bedrooms. The main floor also has a larger air conditioner. The internet access was very good, and we were surprised with the TV offering. We enjoyed the golfing, fishing and the nice places to eat out in the area. There is so much more to do with a large track of mountain biking trails in the National Forest close by. My wife and I enjoyed long walks on quiet roads nearby. We had 3 nice campfires and enjoyed sitting at the various outdoor spots on the property.

An excellent cabin on Lake Namakagon

  • 5 of 5

The first thing we noticed as we arrived at the cabin was it has a prime spot on the lake. The peninsula offers great water views in the cabin and outside. It turns out it is also conviniently located with a less than 5 minute walk to the Garmish USA resort which has an outstanding bar and restaraunt. The cabin itself has been carefully renovated and finishings are first rate. Fire up the Sonos sound system with morning coffee and life is good! The two levels are well thought out with a second table downstairs. It offers another area away from sleeping kids to get the late night card games going. Upstairs the kitchen island was usually the center of activity. We spent a lot of time on the dock which offers good swimming from shore but gets deeper off the end so tieing up our boat was no problem. The dock itself has bumpers too, so no worries on dock rash. There are a bunch places to eat or drink on the lake too, if you want to boat to them. Our young kids loved the bunk beds and fishing from the dock. Garmish resort also has an outdoor play set that the kids used a couple of times. On a nice night we got the fire pit going, which is pretty much a must for any lake trip. One more thing I enjoyed was the covered porch on the ground level. It offers a place to keep gear out of the rain. This cabin makes it easy, just come on up and enjoy all the furnishings that are provided. Enjoying the lake and the natural surroundings is automatic. We would recommend this cabin to people looking for an upscale stay in the Cable area.
