About the property

Bike to town, has everything needed, doggie door

Hi and welcome. My Amelia Island cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, sleeps 5-6. All new fully equipped kitchen including washer and dryer. On a quiet street just off Atlantic, offers fenced yard with back patio for relaxing and enjoying your stay. Everything you will need is at your disposal, cable tv (3 tv"s)including HBO, blue ray/roku, high speed wifi and printer. Vintage décor including English tea set for the Downton Abby lovers. Wood burning fireplace, hard wood floors, tasteful and cozy. Master has full bed as well as a single day bed, 2nd bedroom has twin beds, 3rd bedroom has twin bed as well as a futon.

I live in Tampa, try to get to my lovely cottage as often as I can. My favorite things to do are bike around town (2 bikes for your convenience), visit my favorite restaurants and bars and take it easy at the beach. No better way I know of than getting away to Amelia to relax and unwind. Saturday night ice cream cone downtown is a must. I have a golden retriever who loves to greet everyone on our walks, we share the cone. The chaise lounge in the living room is great for reading.

Visit historic fort clinch, golf at the many local courses, play tennis, shop and bring your fishing rod. Saturday morning market downtown is sure to please. Check out is 11am and check in is 4pm, unless other arrangements have been made. If nobody is there before or nobody coming after, I am flexible.

About Sandra Nicoll

Social Worker, love dogs. From Canada, lived in Fernandina for 7 years but had to move to Tampa for work. Always wanted to find a nice vacation home that I could visit as I have fond memories. I plan to retire in this home but have many years to go. Husband is a golf professional and the island is perfect for us.

Sandra Nicoll purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Sandra Nicoll chose Florida North East

The location of this property is great. Walk to town, bike to the beach, quiet and comfortable. Truly took a lot of care in décor and making sure that it has everything a vacationer would need. You could make a Thanksgiving dinner or pour yourself a cup of kurig coffee. I picked out soft sheets and towels and want you to feel like I would want to feel if I was renting a home for a vacation.

What makes this cottage unique

Charm and character of the home. From the ferns in the flower boxes to the black wrought iron patio set, wanted to make sure my visitors come back and appreciate everything Amelia Island has to offer.

Perfect FB Location/Host

  • 5 of 5

We rented the month of February. I shared many emails with the host Sandra Nichols. She is totally accessible and very eager to answer and resolve any questions or concerns anytime. This neat and clean home is equidistant from the harbor/historic downtown and the beach/shoreline. Barely a mile walk in either direction. Took advantage of many land and water tours on AI. So loved seeing the horses on Cumberland Island from the boat, and walking all over FB on a private Discover This Co. Tour - Guide Lauri is soo knowledgeable and entertaining about the nature and history of the island. Definitely visit the FB Welcome Center for brochures & info. Lots of good restaurants, but check openings on Mon & Tues. The house is equipped with more than enough of everything - indoors and out. The layout is very comfortable and roomy. Our little pups enjoyed the fenced in yard and walks around town were always enjoyable for them. This was my first time renting from HomeAway, and I have to say this was an easy and successful process.

Great location situated between beach, downtown, and grocery shopping. Nice quiet neighborhood. Comfortable, and easy to enjoy! Owner was quick to respond to inquiries and any other needs. Perfect size for us. Close drive to Fernadina Beach downtown for the great restaurants and bakeries, and shopping.

Great value

  • 5 of 5

We were really pleased with this rental. The owner was very quick to respond to any inquiries and the house was cozy, comfortable, and had everything needed for a great vacation. We especially enjoyed exploring and dining in the historic downtown area but the beach, Fort Clinch, and other activities are close by. Our family would definitely stay here again.

Fernandina Beach Cottage

We relocated to the area and this cottage was a perfect fit while we waited on our home to be finished! Very quiet and comfortable yet close to attractions like downtown, Ft. Clinch and the Beaches.

The best rental we've used so far!

  • 5 of 5

Compared to the other rentals we looked at in the area, this cottage definitely had the best value for money and we really appreciated the ease of booking and communicating with the owner.

The cottage has a home away from home feel with all the amenities one could hope for. The only thing we were missing was a grill. We felt very welcome and taken care of, and loved the restaurant guide the owner had prepared for us. The rental was at a great location for us, being in a relatively quiet area we didn't have to loose sleep over somebody else's party, and we were at a walking distance to the beach and the downtown.

Our doggie travelers loved the fenced in back yard and the complimentary tennis balls. The only worry we had with our dogs was that they might break something with a tail wag in the beautifully decorated cottage.

We would most certainly recommend this rental to anyone wanting to experience the beautiful Amelia island!
