We are truly pleased to offer the Historic Captain Philip Cory House for guests visiting the Tiverton and Little Compton area. We feel the Captain Philip Cory House nicely compliments our other VRBO properties, The Old Tiverton Four Corners Schoolhouse No.1. located a few doors down along with Potters Corner in neighboring Little Compton. The Captain Philip Cory House is located in the Historic Tiverton Four Corners Area. We provide complimentary Sakonnet Farm Fresh Eggs (seasonally) and Keriug Coffee during your stay.
The Captain Philip Cory House (circa 1770) is a 2 ½ -story, wood clapboard, Federal-inspired, post-and- beam timber frame structure, set gable end to the road, with a 3-bay facade, having three large, brick, interior chimneys (6 fireplaces and an original kitchen bake oven). The house employs the classical details of the Federal and Greek Revival styles, a historic architectural evolution reflected throughout this house.
The Captain Philip Cory House has three upstairs bedrooms. Two with full sized beds, one with twin bunk beds. The three bedrooms are situated around a central living room with an LED TV. There is a fourth bedroom/sitting room down stairs with two twin beds. There are two full bathrooms upstairs. The central bathroom has a marble shower and a Jacuzzi tub and the master bathroom is brand new with a tiled shower. There is a half bath downstairs. WI-FI is provided free of charge for those of you who like to stay in touch while you are on vacation.
The grounds are stunning and impeccably maintained featuring a parterre box garden and a serpentine perennial garden behind 18th century dry-laid fieldstone walls. Large London Plane trees are prominent landscape features, and some may be original to the date of construction of the house. There is a fire pit area in the yard and we have kiln dried firewood for sale at Sakonnet Farm if you should like to enjoy some outside evening time.
After you are done strolling the grounds, amble a short five minute walk north to visit the heart of Historic Tiverton Four Corners, a quaint three-hundred year old cross-roads village. There you will find unique shops, restaurants, Gray’s Ice Cream shop, an Arts Center, Art Galleries, and many other establishments. If you plan on cooking, be sure to visit one of the nearby roadside stands for some tender, sweet, fresh-picked corn.
If you find the The Captain Philip Cory house already booked for the dates you wish please check out our two other vacation rentals located here on VRBO. The Old Tiverton Four Corners Schoolhouse No.1 is located just a few doors down and Potters Corner is located in neighboring Little Compton. Potters Corner is a brand new 3000s.f. Colonial with high end appointments. All Sakonnet Farm properties are maintained with the same high level attention to detail.

What a beautiful place!
I am local Tiverton resident, and had friends and family stay at the Captain Philip Cory House as housing for our nearby wedding.
The reviews I received from those (tough to impress) people were spectacular!
Spacious, neat, and gorgeous. The home is in a lovely area, and meticulously cared for.
Kristin's communication was superb, and she was extremely helpful when I needed to make a change to the reservation.
Thank you for helping to make our wedding such a success! (and hope you meet you at some point!!
Extremely Comfortable & Great for larger groups
We had a fantastic girls weekend at the Capt. Philip Cory house. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably. We enjoyed relaxing & catching up, while sharing some apps and cooking a meal on our first night. The dining table was amazing for all 8 of us to sit and have dinner. The kitchen was beyond well stocked. We were able to make a large pasta meal with the great large pots and pans. The provided coffee was a really nice extra of the house. On Saturday we drove into Newport to visit the Newport Winery and the beach. Newport was close enough that we came back to the house to shower & get ready before heading back to have dinner at Benjamin's Restaurant & Raw Bar. The two full bathrooms were fantastic & provided everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the area was quiet & relaxing. The driveway provided plenty of room for parking and the outside space was really great. Kristin was so easy to work with, she checked in (via VRBO) on Saturday morning and was quick to respond to any questions. I would definitely recommend the Capt. Philip Cory house to anyone coming to the area. I would love to stay here again.
Classic New England
My extended family, including three children (age 3, 5, and 7) stayed here over a weekend for a family wedding. The big old house accomodated us well. If you want modern bells and whistles, this is not for you. But if you seek a classic New England experience, this wonderful old house and its numerous antiques will charm you. I must add that the book collection is admirable too! The kids were thrilled by the jungle gym in the garden. And we appreciated the kind gesture of fresh farm eggs left for us in the fridge on our arrival. Thanks for memorable weekend!
Beautiful home and yard
Beautiful interior and exterior home! The drive in was gorgeous! The children had plenty of space to play and played on the playground everyday. The kitchen had nearly everything you'd need including k-cups for the coffee maker. The home was furnished comfortably and it was so neat to see the antiques and teach our children what these items were used for back in the day. We would've loved to stay a few days longer! Thank you so much for sharing this home with us.
First class historic accommodation in Tiverton Four Corners
Thank you so much to the Silveira family for sharing their delightful home. They were a pleasure to deal with and cared about our stay.
We fell in love with the property and we were in awe of every room. This is not your typical rental and we very much appreciated the individual style and homeliness. There was not a corner left uncovered with books, items and antiques of interest. The kitchen was very well stocked and there was no shortage of crockery, utensils and pans. The huge supply of coffee on arrival went down very well too! Compliments to the gardener who gave us a taste of home with the typically English style garden which we and the children took great pleasure in. Toasting marshmallows in the fire pit will always remain a fond memory of our stay.
We enjoyed exploring Four Corners and found the location to be perfect in terms of the areas we wanted to visit. We would not hesitate in recommending you to stay here and we look forward to visiting again on our next trip to New England.
