About PHIL DENNIS
My name is Phil Dennis and I was born in Broadstairs. I have managed " The Fishermen's Cottages" for 23 years now, which includes Barnaby's Lodge, 2 Union Square and Beach House which are also on the Home and Away website. There are another 2 additional cottages that will ready for the summer 2019. If you want to know the best restaurants, pubs or beaches to visit then just let me know and I'll be happy to assist. I'm always here to help! I have understood what everyone is looking for and number one is cleanliness which is at the top of our list. Great location by beach
Very much enjoyed staying here for 6 nights. Very quiet and comfortable and lots of variety of eating and drinking establishments near by.
Only thing to be aware of is that stairs are quite steep and with four levels not suitable for anyone who is mobility challenged.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the cottage and also the many pubs and restaurants that we have in Broadstairs.
We hope to see you you again in the future.
Great place to stay. Quiet area near everything you need.
Great little cottage. Kitchen really well equipped. Quaint place. Loved the ropes to help you with the spiral stairs. Ideal location. Quiet place to stay but near everything you want.
Dear Theresa and family.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed the cottage and we hope that enjoyed Broadstairs as well!
Hope to see you again in the future.
Quirky Fishermans Cottage
Broadstairs is a lovely town. The beaches are clean, the selection of cafe's, bars and restaurants is excellent. Morrellis is just superb - best ice-cream ever.
The cottage was warm, clean and comfortable. Easy to find and near the beach and just off the beginning of the high street and it's bars etc.
My only concern is the stairs which are super steep! Not suitable for the very young, infirm or inebriated!
Thank you for taking the time to write this review.
I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay here in Broadstairs.
I appreciate your concern over the stairs but that is the style of Fishermen's cottages and all cottages like this have spiral staircases, which we do advertise when you book.
I hope that it didn't affect your stay and we hope to see you again!
Cottage was lovely! Great location as walking distance to shops, restaurants and Viking bay. Cottage was well equipped for cooking and front room very cosy. Stairs were steep and windy and property has 4 floors which we loved as added character but not suitable for everyone. The cottage is very elegantly decorated and the beds comfortable. We would highly recommend this accommodation.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review.
We are so pleased you enjoyed the cottage and Broadstairs.
Hope to see you again!
Not prepared from last season we guess
We know that it is out of season really but no so in Broadstairs as it was the weekend of Broadstairs Blues Bash when the town rocks. Sadly this property was not quite prepared. Things had not been checked out it seems. The cooker hood in the basement kitchen did not work and the one small window did not open. One of the under kitchen cupboard lights did not work either. Cooking pasta or rice is not recommended unless you bring your own colendar as it is one of the few places that doesn't have one supplied. That said a very nice little place to stay and very handy indeed for the locations of the festival, but oh so dingy lighting. There must have been extra lights installed for the pictures on the website. as we spent most of the time in the dark especially in the tiny shower room where there was no storage either. Everything else was comfortable but the stairs are certainly not for the feint hearted. They do warn you and we survived!
Dear Dee Lee.
I am so sorry that you thought we where not prepared for the new season ahead. We have had the cottage completely revamped with a new bathroom and redecorated. I am a little surprised on your comments saying that the window doesn't open of which I have checked and it works perfectly well!
The light under the kitchen cupboard had been switched off probably when the cleaner was cleaning or maybe the last guests had switched it off. The cooker hood is working so maybe you didn't see the switch on the right hand side!
I must admit it is very strange that the colander is missing and that has now been replaced, all it would take is a phone call and I would have rectified any issues you had straight away I am only 5 minutes away.
I hope it didn't spoil your stay.
Superb Short Break at this Quaint Cottage in an Quiet Location
The Whole "Experience" from finding the property, booking, pre arrival information, e mail from owner with good information was easy and no issue
The Cottage is as described and was a perfect base for relaxing and exploring this area of the country
We actual enjoyed the spiral staircase from basement to the top floor it adds to not detracts from the ambiance of the Cottage
On practical notes the Cottage was spotless and well supplied with towels and other essentials, the box in kitchen with tea, coffee and some milk was great for our late arrival
WE enjoyed our stay at the Cottage, it was really comfortable and we were able to chill out relax, it also provides a superb gateway to this area of the coast.

Being right on the tip of the South East of England, we have our own little micro-climate here producing some of the best weather in the UK.
You will be guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome whenever you come to Broadstairs. This picturesque town has a special atmosphere all of its own. Originally a small fishing hamlet, the town's ancient maritime past is nowhere more clearly seen, than in the huddle of cottages, old customs house & 16th century weather-boarded boat house which nestles around the harbour.
