Cabin looking Condo ~ a little noisy

  • 3 of 5

The place is nicely decorated, the couch is cozy and the fire keeps the room warm, the kitchen has the supplies needed. It is easy to find as is very close to the entrance.

We have stayed in 4 different units at Snowater before, usually renting directly from HomeAway or AirBnB. This rental went through HomeAway and Mount Baker Lodging so the place to pick up the keys is about 7 miles from the condo... I didn't realize it until we were at Snowater and had to drive back the 7 miles to pick up the key... this info is on the PDF sent with the confirmation email I just didn't see it since I've always gone directly to Snowater when renting through HomeAway.

A few things we did not like: The bed was very firm, not comfortable at all, we woke up with sore backs. The pillows were very soft, the baseboard heater in the living room was very loud, at first we thought the noise was outside since we were across from the Maintenance area. I'd recommend staying in a unit facing the forest or the river if you want to have a relaxing, quiet morning.

We lost power the second night due to the storm and the power never came on :( we were so glad we brought our own firewood. It would have being nice to have flashlights handy and also for the unit to supply the first bundle of firewood.

Owner's Response: Hi Susana: Thank you for your review for Condo #62! Although comfort level can be somewhat subjective according to every guest's likes and dislikes, we have brought this matter to the attention of the property owner. I have to admit that it's going to be a bit of a hard sell, as most guests have commented that they liked the bed, plus it meets the property owners level of comfort when they are staying in their 2nd home. The "crackling" sound that periodically comes from the baseboard heater occurs when the heater is cycling on and off. We have advised the property owners about this, as well, as it may be time for a replacement. We typically represent about twenty units at Snowater at any given time. They come in different sizes, with different types of beds, different occupancy limits, different rates, different furnishings, and different locations. We highly recommend when conducting a search (especially if you're searching from a site other than our own) that you inquire about location, etc., as we likely have a property that will meet your needs in all areas. Many thanks for the neat and tidy way in which you left the condo upon departure...greatly appreciated! Please remember that you are now enrolled in our Guest Loyalty Program, and are entitled to receive a discount on all future 2-night minimum stays during non-holiday/event periods, when reservations are secured by phone. Thanks again Susana, and Happy Trails, Dan
