We rented this cabin for four nights between Christmas and New Years. The cabin had that cabin feel right out of the 70's. The décor definitely has it's charm. The only reason I am giving it four stars is that the beds were not very comfortable. Those could and should be upgraded. Upon our arrival we were looking to jump straight into the hot tub (it was the deciding factor in choosing this specific cabin). I found it to be unlocked and when opening the lid noticed that it looked like a bear had climbed in for a soak the water was so dirty. I called Mt. Baker Lodging and Wendy took care of it immediately. She even went so far as to give a portion of our money back for the inconvenience. Overall our stay was excellent and Mt. Baker Lodging really went the extra mile to make it that way.
It is a lovely dated Cabin (orange shag carpet) with comfortable furniture and nice beds. We spent the Christmas weekend there and one of the best features was being able to have our dogs with us! The only negative was the wood: there was a fireplace and logs but no kindling or matches. It's a place I would recommend staying!
My review is not so much on the cabin, as my title says what you see is what you get, nothing fancy or spectacular but good enough, the cabin has great neighbors. My review is on the Mount Baker vacation rentals agent. These people are beyond helpful and professional. During our stay the first morning after we arrived a freak gust of wind blew and blew down a tree that landed on this cabin. In 20 minutes a very nice lady (wish I could remember her name) from the rental agency was there to help us into another cabin which at first I did not think it was a upgrade but after getting over the shock of tree falling on our roof, I realize it was. Not only did she assist us into the new place but gave us a 10% discount per night stay. I was very pleased with this but when I went to turn in our keys on sunday, I was informed they were refunding us for the first night. Thing is, this was not there fault that a tree fell, it was a healthy tree, so for them to do this is above and beyond.
