A Good Time Was Had By All

  • 4 of 5

Stayed at the cabin last weekend with a group of friends for a ski trip.

Everything was as described, and the place was about a 30 min drive from the mountain. The cabin was clean and relatively comfortable (though perhaps large adults should rethink the twin beds upstairs, and the mattress on the trundle bed in the loft was not loved by the person who slept on it). Nice bonus that we found though was that the couch downstairs was actually a sofa bed, so the trundle bed mattress because a non-issue.

Only a couple annoyances: the place lost power the morning we were leaving, so we spent quite a while handwashing dishes to clean up, and we were lucky that one of our group had packed a lighter or we wouldn't have been able to light the stove to make breakfast. Also, the gutter was leaking right outside the door where we entered / exited.

Whining aside, we had a great time at the cabin. Good kitchen, loved the fireplace, lots of hot water for showers -- overall, a very good stay at a nice place for a weekend trip.

Owner's Response: Hi Peter: Thank you for the great review for Cabin #96! Yes, that was certainly some kind of snowstorm. I've lived here for almost 30-years and have never seen anything quite like it. Downed trees, no power, no phone service (virtually county-wide) and close to 3' of snow...all at the same time. We're glad that you chose Cabin #96 with the gas fireplace to help keep things toasty! The dripping sound that you were hearing was from the huge accumulation of snow on the roof and was dripping as it began to thaw. There should have been a "clicker" type BBQ lighter in the kitchen cabinet...sorry if you didn't see it. Many thanks for the respectful way in which you left the cabin upon departure. Remember that you are now enrolled in our Guest Loyalty Program, and are entitled to receive a discount on all future 2-night minimum stays during non-holiday/event periods, when reservations are secured by phone. Thanks again, and Happy Trails, Dan
