Overview

About the property

For the traveler that desires quiet in a non-commercial environment.

A TINY & cute little cabin on private lake located 10 minutes from Soldotna. Brand new, has bunk up (full) and single bed down. Brass kitchen sink (hot and cold water), WIFI, lake view, private residence. Romantic electric fireplace, microwave, coffee maker. Brand new PRIVATE bathroom with shower, toilet, sink etc. may not be suitable for long-term due to its size if you don't like small spaces. However, many do and very much enjoy it as its warm, safe, out of the weather, clean, tidy and has everything you need. If you are large (250 pounds or more) this might be too small for you.

We are centrally located on the Kenai Peninsula for your convenience! Most use our facilities to go on all the day trips of adventure the peninsula has to offer and then come back for a good night of rest and relaxation! Warm and snuggly, absolutely clean and the view of the private lake at sunrise is unbelievable! Since we are located in a rural area, it is common to see wildlife however, we do not guarantee it. Its nature and it acts upon its ownself.

Great for overnighters, fishermen and adventurers! Centrally located on the Kenai Peninsula. Easy access. Salmon fishing on the river (the magnificent Kenai) is just 10 minutes away! Great for the budget-minded who desire a "base camp" without the frills and high costs. Town is just minutes away, very convenient!

We do leave the boardwalk lights on at night for your convenience and safety. We supply all towels, wash cloths, clean sheets, pillows, warm blankets etc. Think of your cabin as a "base camp" for adventure while in Alaska. We have hundreds of public comments about it and all are very complimentary! The cabin is all handbill with wonderful woods selected to compliment that "feeling" of rustic yet classy. Extremely clean and sanitary!!!!

About JIM AND LISA OLTERSDORF

I am an extreme and high-risk outdoor photographer, author and naturalist. I travel a great deal around the world and do a great amount of work as a documentary film maker. I have TV shows on The Discovery Channel, History Channel, Animal Planet etc. In the past I have been one of the official naturalists for Celebrity Cruise Lines and am the executive producer of "Alaska Bush Pilots...The Real Deal" that has aired on PBS.

JIM AND LISA OLTERSDORF purchased this cabin in 2000

Why JIM AND LISA OLTERSDORF chose Kenai Peninsula

Our property is unique due to one of the very most favorable assets; that it is non-commercial and small and centrally located on the vast peninsula. We are not of the "lodge mentality", meaning, there are not a bunch of people here creating noise, confusion and especially at 4:30 am when they get up and fuss about getting ready for the days adventures. All units are stand-alone and by themselves. You don't hear the doors slamming, coughing and talking that is so common at larger facilities. We wanted this different and we think we succeeded! By the many public comments we have received, we think we made it happened for the comfort of our precious guests.

What makes this cabin unique

By being mid-way to Homer, Seward and the other places on the Kenai Peninsula, you can go visit the other places, have a great time and then come back to sleep and get ready for the next days adventures on the opposite side of the peninsula with wonderful convenience! No pets, smoking in rooms or heavy perfumes or incense.

What we continually hear is how much wildlife is seen here and how quiet it is. We share our energies and appreciation of just how magnificent it is here with our guests. Perhaps that is just one of many reasons guests return year after year. Thank you!
