The water is beautiful ; color and sand are picturesque. Home has many updated appointments and very nice 360 degree decks. Love the washer/dryer and fully stocked kitchen. Both bathrooms are very nice and cozy living-room. Convenient to stores yet feels remote. Would stay here again and again!
Just arrived back home from our vacation at Pam's beach house. It was truly one of the best locations we have stayed in. The home is older, but well kept, inside and out. The view from the deck cannot be beat. The beach is literally yards away at high tide, and as private as it is awe inspiring. We brought along our 3 small dogs who had a blast walking on the beach and cruising around the deck. I hesitate to tell you that you should go, because it books up so fast and we definitely plan to return. But to be honest-You really should enjoy a vacation here. You wont be sorry! Thank You Pam for your generosity and hospitality! Until Next Time: Ken and Paula & Matt (Abby, Jake and Sophie)
We stayed in this house before Pam bought it and all the updates she has done are great!!!! Hope to stay again in the furture!!! Very Private!!!! Plenty of room for family!!!
We stayed at Pam's house the week of 8-20-16. We had a great stay. Relaxing all the way around. Pam was easy to work with. We had great welcome gifts awaiting us. We had plenty of room for everyone. The location and beach are to die for. The neighbors were friendly and all the locals we encountered were friendly also. We saw dolphins swim the beach, we caught a baby puffer fish(and released him after a photo), we witnessed baby sea turtles make their way to the ocean, we swam and surfed everyday, and we fished right in front of the house. The guys took an inland and sea charter and the girls swam with the dolphins just down the road at Marineland. Every local restaurant we visited was great. We also visited during the 100th anniversary of the state parks. We went to both forts and we visited the coquina quarry down the road at Washington. This was our first time in this area and it is beautiful! Not the regular crowed beaches and over populated vacation sight seeing by far! Thanks so much Pam for being part of our treasured family vacation memories. Pam is updating this property and improvements were made from the time we booked to the time we stayed!
First the good. Of course the ocean view. Just a great way to wake up every morning and then again at night before you go to bed listening to the sound of waves. Also the price! Was only giving 6 nights to stay which caused a bit of a problem, but Pam was generous enough to give a bit of a discount to offset my inconvinence of staying in a hotel for one night.
Now the bad, which is unfortunately a lot more than the good. First when we got here my daughter immediately saw either dog doo or chocolate on her sheets. They did not appear to be changed. I immediatly contacted Pam and she assured me the sheets were sanitized. Unfortunately when I went to stick the dirty sheets in the washer, there were towels and some sheets left in there from the cleaners, I presume. There were several towels and the sheets to the master bedroom. It was at this point I knew the sheets in the 2nd bedroom where my daughter was staying had not been washed. I don't know if anyone slept in that room before our arrival, but the sheets definitely needed to be washed because of the smear on the top of the bed.
I have booked about 6 places on VRBO and this was definitely the dirtiest place. I understand you are basically on a beach, but the floors were very sandy, the refrigerator looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks and the stove maybe a year. My wife cleaned for the first 2 days trying to get it to our liking, but now going on day 5, it still feels a bit dirty as we just killed our 3rd bug, which looks like a roach in the kitchen. Don't know if this is normal being on the beach, but I don't think so.
The property is also not well stocked. As noted previously, I have stayed at VRBO properties over a hand full of times and have always left 5 star ratings. All of these properties had plenty of toilet paper, salt, etc. This place had nothing and you even run out of toilet paper. The only reason I even give this property a decent rating is because of the location.
On a side note, when you book, Pam will tell you due to a recent storm, they do not have a walkway to gain entry to the beach bc of a recent storm. And you are told to access the neighbors walkway which is only a few feet from the property. This is also incorrect. First of all there was no recent storm as I talked to many locals in the area. There has not been a walkway in front of Pam's property in over a year. And second, the neighbors walkway is 75 feet away. Not impressed.
What a great place to kick back and relax. We stayed at Pam's beachfront home last year when she first purchased it and what a difference a year makes. She has changed and updated the interiors. We loved it so much we are going back next year. The views are amazing and the location is off of the beaten path but close to shopping. You can get lost in the view and not even realize the day as past. Recommend this property.
