My family and I have been visiting the Monterey Peninsula for many years and have grown to love the peace and serenity that coastal living offers. We are from Northern California and spend time in the Sierra Tahoe area as well.
Ann M. purchased this house in 2014
After many years of searching for a home in the Carmel/Monterey area, we were lucky enough to find our home in what had become our favorite area: Carmel Meadows.
Slightly removed, but still just minutes away (by car), or a (nice, long, Beachfront/Scenic Dr.) walk to the excitement of downtown Carmel; we feel this place is a much needed sanctuary for us to rest, relax and unwind.
This home is located in the prestigious area known as Carmel Meadows, a quiet neighborhood boasting (two) coastal access paths to a semi secluded stretch of beach, situated between Monastery and Carmel Beaches. There is also hiking access/road along the perimeter of the Carmel River Lagoon Sanctuary.
My husband, ten-year-old son, and I spent a week here over Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time and would love to stay here again. The owner, Ann, was very pleasant and easy to deal with, and went out of her way to ensure that we had a great stay. The home is immaculate, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and updated, there are nice flat-screen TVs in the living room and master bedroom, and there are three separate outdoor spaces that add a lot of comfort to the home. There is an elevator to the garage, which has a modern washer and dryer. One of the best features of this home, in my opinion, is its location. It sits on a lovely street across from the Carmel River and close to town, and is a half-mile walk away from a spectacular beach. We enjoyed long walks on the beach every morning. I highly recommend this property.
We live in the Bay Area and come down often to the greater Carmel/Monterey area for long weekends. We usually stay at Carmel Valley Ranch with our kids (11 &14). For Labor Day this year, we thought we'd stay as close to the beach as possible. This home did not disappoint. It was a very short walk to the beach, which we did often - for early morning jogs, sunset strolls or walks into downtown Carmel. We didn't even know this gem of a neighborhood existed!! The house was very clean and had most everything we needed. Shampoo/conditioner in the showers and ice in the freezer both would've been great, but these were small things, everything else was provided. The views are stunning and we enjoyed coffee in the morning and wine in the evening on the beautiful front veranda. The champagne in the fridge was a great touch. Parking is available in the garage and all of the appliances are modern and efficient. All of the beds and sheets were very cozy and comfy. Thanks so much Ann, 5 stars from each family member!!!
We loved spending time in the kitchen / family room . The views of the river wildlife from the French doors and terrace where amazing .
The bed was very comfortable and there was a plentiful supply of linens . We would stay here again !
The location was great , 2 minute walk to the Meadows and Carmel beaches. 5 minutes drive to The Crossroads for groceries and restaurants. 8 minutes to town.
We had a wonderful time, easy to have family together. Perfect location to walk around the whole beachfront, beautiful views. Very well appointed.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We were two couples in town for a wedding nearby and the set up of the house was perfect (probably could accommodate 1-2 more guests very comfortably) . We each had our own large bedroom and private bath. I loved the outdoor spaces and took advantage of terrace just off the kitchen/living room to enjoy my tea and a good book in the mornings. The house was impeccable. Also, the fact that we could just walk down the block to a beautiful beach was fantastic.
Ann was very responsive throughout the entire process and I would certainly recommend renting from her.
