We were looking for a quiet place to relax yet still be close enough to sightsee, fish, and see a show at Red Rocks. This was an impeccable cabin that provided all. Very clean, maintained and stocked with everything we needed for our stay. I was impressed from the moment I pulled in the driveway. Although it was only two of us, we could have easily brought our family up and been more than comfortable. Dawn was an extremely awesome host and was available if we had any questions. I Highly recommend this property for the views, tranquility and comfort. We will come back to this area and I will not need to look any further for a place to stay. My new home away from home!

Thank you Dawn for your hospitality.

Convenient, spacious, clean and relaxing!

  • 4 of 5

We met our daughter and her boyfriend here for the weekend. We wanted something somewhat remote but not too remote because my daughter wasn't getting there until later in the evening. The location was perfect and easy to get to. Close to hiking and some great local eateries. We had a great time just hanging out and exploring the area. We caught meteor showers two nights in a row. Amazing!!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I have to say that choosing this cabin from the get go was amazing. The response time was quick and we were on our way to what we hoped would be a beautiful weekend up in the mountains with our grandkids. Upon arrival we were very pleased with the beauty of the cabin and it's surroundings. Every needed accommodation was available for making sure our stay was completely enjoyable. There is a great front porch with barbeque, table and chairs and a lower seating area to relax and enjoy the summer skies. Our grandchildren loved watching the hummingbirds...lots and lots of them! There was a great movie selection available to enjoy and we loved the variety of coffees there too! The upstairs loft was immediately claimed by our two grandchildren and they loved it and said it was a perfect sleeping headquarters. (They want their parents to sleep up there with them next time we visit! ) We all slept soundly with the sound of the river close by. The cabin is close to many outdoor adventures. We fished and hiked and enjoyed the activities in and around Bailey. We had so much fun it was hard to leave. We will definitely be coming back for another stay! Thank you so much to the wonderful Shawnee Cabin hosts for having this perfect getaway available!

Quaint and fun little property in the mountains

  • 4 of 5

The owners are very helpful to work with and worked very hard to make our stay pleasant. The house was extremely clean and well furnished. We loved the history in the architect of the home. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked and easy to use. Everything about the house and the hosts exceeded expectations.

The traffic noise from Hwy 285 was noticeable, which was a little disappointing as we'd hoped to have more quiet, but it did get quiet during sleeping hours. We also had a fisherman in our group and he wasn't permitted to fish along this section of the South Platte because it is all privately owned. We wish we'd known this ahead of time.

This is a well maintained and obviously loved little cottage in the mountains. We had a great time using this home and would definitely recommend it to others.

Owner's Response: Dawn, I'm sorry to hear that your friend didn't take advantage of the fishing. Although there are "No Trespassing" signs posted near the river, the signs are directed at uninvited individuals. That entire portion of the river is the property of the subdivision and is available to any homeowner or their guests (meaning you). Our previous guests have enjoyed the fishing in front of the cabin without questioning the signs. I would like to apologize to you for not clarifying that the river is available for guests to fish in. To avoid any confusion in the future, I will make it clear to our future guests.

Beautifully located in the mountains by a river. Cabin has everything one could possibly need and more. Very clean and well maintained. My family had a wonderful peaceful vacation. We had no cellphone reception, but did not find it bothersome. I will highly recommend the cabin . Thanks.
