The living room has over thirty square, spacious and newly renovated meters, with two viewpoints, double glazing both in the gazebo, as in the living room, so that outside noise is not a problem to be perfectly soundproof.
It has air conditioning and heating.
The house is really cozy, we have decorated with all our love to be like a little paradise where guests can relax and feel at home.

The Salamanca district, is one of the best neighborhoods of Madrid. The quietness and the architecture of its houses and streets, enable the district host the best shops and the best restaurants.
The apartment is located in a privileged and quiet location with easy access and well connected.
Very close to the Retiro Park and within walking distance of the Prado, Thyssen, Botanical Garden, the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, etc ...
Like Central Park in New York, the Retiro Park is the lung of Madrid, where both locals and tourists flock to disconnect, play sports, sunbathing, picnicking. So the hotel is located in one of the areas cleanest air in the capital.
We are fortunate to have a location that allows you to walk anywhere, but communications are still unbeatable.
- Taxi stand near the door,
- Retiro subway station just a few meters from the portal,
- Bus lines in the Puerta de Alcalá.
- BiciMad station just a few meters.
The house is ideal for couples or families.
We provide a welcome basket and a small guide to our favorite recommendations in the neighborhood, to shop and eat.
There were several good restaurants and a little grocery close by. Metro stop right there. Young girl that checked us in did not speak English, so could not explain how the locks worked. After attempts to contact the owner, we finally figured out the system, just as we were thinking we would have to find another room for the night. Bathroom sink was stopped up and not usable...my travel buddy was skilled at clearing nasty plumbing clogs which we did...again, after no response from owner. There were few amenities, one very small roll of toilet paper, no other paper products. Circuit breaker flipped frequently, so we had to quickly learn where it was, again after no response from the owner.
The good news. The Apartment is in a very good location and is decorated very well. The rooms are large and the bed is comfortable. The bad news of our 3 week stay. The kitchen has very basic essentials. Not meant for more then reheating. We had one set of sheets for the bed. It's very hard to wash and dry on a rack in time for bed time. The air conditioner is to small to cool more then the living room. The bedroom was very hot for sleeping. It's located on a major road that is very noisy 24/7. Too loud to open doors for air at night.
The owner never answered our request for a larger coffee pot or the fact that the cleaning person never showed up.
Excellent location in Madrid. The apartment is in the Salamanca area that is lovely with many great restaurants. The Retiro Metro station is extremely convenient, located 1/2 block away which is also where you can enter Retiro Park. You can walk to the Prado as well, we did. The apartment fit our family of 4 very well. Apartment is as pictured. The kitchen is well equipped and quite adequate for all our needs. Bathroom is large and modern. All in all a great place.
We communicated our arrival time a couple of times and it worked out very well. I forget the women's name who met us, but she was right there waiting for us when we arrived by taxi from the airport.
Great apartment. Very well located overlooking Retiro Park and short walking distance to Prado, Metro stop, restaurants etc. Apartment was large, clean, very comfortable and (when windows closed) quiet. The apartment was actually better than depicted in the VRBO information. Only small hitch was we arrived early and were unable to contact Leticia so we had to wait almost two hours for access. Nonetheless, we highly recommend this apartment and will stay here again on next trip to Madrid.
We loved our stay at this apartment. We kicked off a 10 day trip to Spain with 3 nights in Madrid, and I would stay in this apartment again if I ever go back.
-It is in a great location, right across the street from the Parque de El Retiro. The views out the bedroom and living room window were of the park and trees (looking past the Calle Alcala). It made it very easy to go for a 3 mile run around the park.
-The apartment is also a very easy walk to the Prado and Reina Sofia. It is also a nice distance to walk to the old city. If you prefer to get around by subway, the Retiro stop is one block away from the apartment.
-The apartment is very nicely appointed and very comfortable. My wife and I slept comfortably on the king sized bed in the master, and our 21 year old son (studying in Salamanca) had a room with 2 beds to himself.
-We love to cook (which I why we pick Homeaway rentals for our trips), and the Mercado de la Paz is a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Even if you don't want to cook, you should go there to stock up on wine, olives, cheese, etc. for snacks.
-There are a number of good tapas bars and cafes in the neighborhood around the apartment, so you can easily find places to eat. Most are reviewed on Yelp.
-Even though Calle Alcala is a very busy street, the windows in the apartment are of a quality where the noise is dampened pretty well. We used earplugs just in case, and we were not bothered by the traffic noise at night.
A couple of suggestions:
-Make sure you have good directions on how to access the apartment, or make sure you have a phone with you where you can make Spanish calls. I didn't really ask for check-in instructions (beyond asking what the earliest was that we could check in), and when we got to the apartment we thought we were in the wrong place (because the sign on the door says it is a Colegio). Luckily, I found the phone number and my son had a phone and the Spanish language skills to get us the info we needed. It was a breeze after that!
-If you are like us, and you land early in the morning, you won't be able to check in until mid-afternoon. Go to the train station and leave your bags in the lockers, visit a museum, have an afternoon meal with wine, and then get your bags and check in. You'll be ready for your first Spanish siesta then.
In summary, a great apartment for your Madrid visit.
A light filled typical Madrilanian flat. Waking up with a view over the Retiro park was iconic. The location is close to upscale shopping and many great restaurants.
