Definitely would not stay here again
To start off, this resort is terrible. You check in and have to pay $60 to park and then another $20 for a key fob and then another $20 for a parking hang tag. The $20 for the hang tag is refunded at the end of the stay when returned. When arriving to the unit, upon opening the door I was instantly greeted with the smell of mold and mildew because the unit has carpet and a leaking window in the bedroom. The owner needs to have tile installed. The shower tile was not sloped to the drain in the bathroom, therefore you had to shower in standing water and push the water to the drain periodically. My vehicle was damaged by another car while staying here and the resort security was less than helpful and acted like they could care less. They have cameras overlooking the parking area but they apparently were not working during my stay. Nothing was ever resolved. I also had the people staying above me doing construction on their unit for two weeks of my stay. Construction is suppose to stop at 5pm, and it never did. I complained multiple times every night to security and the front desk about the noise and they always told me they would send security up to handle it and it was never handled. It continued every night. even after multiple complaints. Bottomline, I would never waste my money for this unit or any unit in this resort. It was the worst experience I have ever had with VRBO and have used them many times in the past several years. This resort is the worst!!!
We are very sorry about your bad experience at The Tides. It's the first time we have someone so unhappy about their time at our place.
First, for the parking, the cost (35$/week) was indicated in the rental agreement you signed when you made the reservation. Then for all the other points ( the shower, the construction noise and the damage to your car) you should have told us about it, maybe we could have done something about it to help you.
The only time we heard from you was about you wanting to leave the condo earlier because
of your job and asking for a refund...
Once again we are sorry about all this and we will keep trying to improve communication with people renting our property.
A clean and friendly place to stay. Close to the beach and easy access to everything.
The elevator can be an issue if too many people are using it. There is a 5 person limit and we have had to wait multiple times for more room because people didn't want to overfill. Overall the place is great and we had a good time.
Beautiful and relaxing spot
We had a great week , we always keep coming back to The Tides.
We thought that the heated pools, the patios with umbrellas and lounges and the beach were beautiful
The view from our balcony was just beautiful! We enjoyed sitting there and reading or talking to be very enjoyable. The heated pool is a luxury that we and our guests really enjoyed. It always clean and worm.
The owner provided bath towels, in addition, they provided six beautiful beach towels. There is a small grocery store on the first floor of the building which is a terrific option. It was amazing to see how many food items they carried; both American and Spanish items
There is one room on each floor with a washer and dryer. We used it frequently with no problems. And the other people who used the facilities were always polite and followed the rules.
We do have some complaints. The kitchen is small (as they are though out the building) but most kitchens had small tables which would have been very handy if we had one. Since we were staying for three months, I expected the kitchen to be fully supplied but it wasn't so we went out and spend about forty dollars on standard things like over mitts, a colander more place mats. When we had serious problems getting the big television in the living room to work. There were no handbooks or guide books or lists of restaurants of any kind so we had to rely on the owners to help us out; it took close to two weeks to get all of these issues ironed out. I frequently asked other tenants in the building for advice. The owners live in Canada and I think they their most used language is French (French Canadian). There is a phone in the condo that rings periodically and seems to be for French Canadians. When it came to washing clothes I had trouble using the machines because they only take certain a plastic card that you have to pay for at a machine on the first floor near the grocery store. We had no problems with all of the other features including parting and asking he front desk for help. The bed and the sofa bed were fine for us and for guests who stayed with us.
We noticed that many of the other condos had been renovated, many in all white (really beautiful). Also the only window in the master bedroom has broken glass and we were warned not to open it. We didn't understand why it hasn't been fixed because the fresh air would have been very nice. There is a big television in the bedroom which is nice but, again needs some help in using and the landlord was not really helpful.
Our visit was for three months. We will miss the view but we will be looking for an updated condo on our next visit in 2018.
Great view, great value
I stayed at the apartment for two weeks. It's large and comfortably furnished with a big, well-stocked kitchen. For the price, there is nothing comparable.
The pool is long enough for lap swimming, yet big enough to accommodate others paddling around.
The balcony was the best part, a great place to begin and end the day sitting in the comfortable chairs enjoying the breeze and view.
It's easy to get in and out of Miami from here. I'd definitely stay here again.
Beautiful place, perfect view and location. Even with a hurricane warning, we had a blast! Everything is within walking distance. The Tides is a bit of a pain with all the rules and regulations, but as long as you read all the posted signs first, you'll be fine. I intend to stay in that same condo in the near future.
