Savannah's beautiful Historic District is sought after because of the walkable design, the gorgeous public green space of the 21 Squares and the architecture on every single street full of beautiful historic homes, museums and restored commercial buildings.
This 2-story "carriage house" is a historic structure behind a beautiful downtown Savannah townhouse. No need to worry about noise from above since you get both floors of the house to yourself.
We had an amazing stay while we were there! The carriage house was very cozy but not cramped, and we enjoyed the ability to relax on the upstairs balcony. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we will be booking this spot again.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this historic carriage house. The space was clean and great walking distance to almost everything we wanted to see. We thoroughly enjoyed eating and drinking on our private balcony. It was quiet, a great cost for the space and location, and we LOVE Savannah. We'll surely be back and strongly recommend this rental for those visiting Savannah.
Great location near everything in Savannah! Small but charming. Balcony overlooking courtyard was our favorite spot. TV was not working, picture kept freezing up. Free parking at end of alley. Very helpful and friendly host.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely carriage house. It is located on Jones Lane, a small side street right next to Jones Street. Jones Street, in our opinion, certainly lives up to its reputation as one of the most beautiful streets in America.
The house is cozily small yet still contains everything one or two would need for a comfortable stay. Upon walking in there is a nicely decorated den with a TV and a small collection of books. The full kitchen is stocked with necessary appliances and cookware. We enjoyed a nice breakfast during our mornings on the upstairs patio, which overlooks a beautiful courtyard that adjoins the two homes in this property. A spiral staircase leads up to the bedroom, which is also well furnished. Also upstairs is a full bath which came stocked with towels as well as some complimentary bath products.
The house was cleaned and appeared to be well maintained. During our stay we discovered an issue with one of the pipes underneath the sink. A e-mail to Mary, our property manager, resulted in a quick response by both e-mail and phone. Her prompt efforts to resolve the issue resulted in the pipe being fixed in a matter of couple of hours.
One thing we found that we particularly liked about this house was its wonderful location. Jones Street is relatively quiet and does not get a great deal of foot or car traffic. Many of the livelier parts of the city, however, are no more than a few blocks away. We appreciated the convenience of having peace and quiet, yet having many activities to do in the immediate vicinity of our rental. Parking right around Jones Street is very convenient, too. Though we could not park directly on Jones Lane, the 300 and 400 blocks of Jones Street were free to park on and we never had trouble finding a spot. This was convenient for us as we spent a decent amount of time traveling to some attractions outside the historic district like Bonaventure Cemetery, Tybee Island and Wormsloe Plantation.
We had a wonderful stay in Savannah thanks to both the charm of this wonderful city and the pleasure of staying in this rental property. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.
My boyfriend and I loved staying here! It was in a quiet but historic part of town, and we were able to easily walk anywhere we wanted. Some of the decor was amazing, like the old door for the bathroom, the light fixtures, the vintage fridge. Some of the artwork on the walls was a little off-putting and the furniture itself was a little cheesy/mis-matched. The towel bars were not very solidly attached either - my boyfriend accidentally bumped one very gently and it popped right off. These last two things are the only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars. The wifi was a little touch-and-go, but I contacted Mary and she jumped right on it! Overall we enjoyed our stay and appreciated Mary's helpfulness. We would stay here again!
Really enjoyed our week in Savannah....The carriage house is very well located near
a grocery, lots of restaurants, places to shop. Just the right size for 2 people, kitchen
will only fit one person at a time and bed is very comfortable. Only downside no cable
only Apple TV and if the signal isn't strong enough it will stall. I would definitely recommend a tour with Savannah Dan.....
The quirkiness of this unit was excellent and made it a fun stay. Its bathroom door was so creative! I was alone but felt safe, the location was in a beautiful neighborhood, the bed was comfortable, and it was affordable. The only thing some might miss is regular tv to watch. I would stay again!
This is walkable to any tourist destination in the Historic District and easily accessible from the airport, beach, islands and midtown areas of Savannah.
