Incredible condo! Great location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at this wonderful condo in Molino de Agua. We have two young children (ages 6 and 9). It was perfect for us. The condo is huge so we all had our own personal space when needed. The pictures give a good representation of the condo -- IT IS BEAUTIFUL. The pool is fantastic. You are right on the beach and Malecon. Restaurants are abundant. Everything you need is provided. Just bring your clothes and tooth brush. These condos sell for $1 million if that gives you a sense for how nice it is.

We stayed there in July and it was very hot; but the condo gets wonderful breezes coming through when you have all the windows open -- especially at night and in the morning. Electricity was not an issue for us. We came in under the allotted budget. We did use the A/C to cool the place down when it got too hot and the winds were calm. You can ask the guards at the front gate to show you the electrical meter so you can track how much electricity you have consumed. We asked to check a few times during our week long stay as we didn't want any surprises. In fact, we were doing so well that we determined we could be more liberal in our usage. The other nice part is that each room has its own A/C zone so you only have to cool the part of the house you are in. During the Winter months though you may hardly need the A/C though.

Like I said, the pool is really nice. Very big. Plenty of chairs. You can go to the edge near the beach and see beautiful sunsets. The only negative part is that the shallow area is fairly limited. Most of the pool is probably about 4 feet deep. My youngest child was not tall enough and had to stay in the limited shallow area. It would be nice if it were bigger. I wish we had brought rafts or tubes with us for the pool. That is one thing that would be nice to see the condo owners add onsite. Regardless, we spent time at the pool every day. FYI - It is a saltwater pool and very clean.

Other thoughts:

- It would help if the manager provided an info packet with phone numbers, etc.

- Note that the price INCLUDES taxes. Most other listings do not.

- Some of the locks on bedroom doors need to be fixed (Master Bedroom)

- Maid service is TWICE per week.

- Security guards are really helpful. Restaurant recommendations. They put us in contact with a fishing charter

- Grocery store is within walking distance (20 minutes) or cheap taxi.

- Spa across street is great. $15 for 3 hour manicure and treatment.

SPLENDID !

  • 5 of 5

TOP! The condo was well maintained, beautifully decorated, very confortable beds and furniture, top of the line sheets and towels.... The kitchen had everything possible and there were even blowdryers in each bathroom. Walk-in closet and huge shower in the master was nice. So beautiful to sit on the patio and enjoy your morning coffee - wraparound views of the city are breathtaking. It was a pleasure staying there especially as the condo is in the middle of everything in Zona Romantica! Out from the pool gate and you are on the Malecon Boardwalk and from Main gate you are in the middle of Old Town. Good security and handled professionally as they check your credentials.

As a side note, I would not recommend this building for a family with small children.

The only criticism I have is that the pool is stunning, but not is "children friendly" and has NO atmosphere. There is a bar where you can have a couple of drinks but there are year-round residents that insist on a very low noise level.

Second side note: Beware of your usage on the air conditioner unit; during our stay the outside temperatures and HUMIDITY soared. It was necessary to run the a/c when when were home. We kept our usage to the bare minimum, but we still had a significant uncharge when we paid our final bill. A little confusing as you have no idea where you stand on your a/c consumption until the end.

Highly recommend this unit. The view is incredible.

Well done ~ we will be back!

Beautiful

Fantastic condo. Awesome location. Couldn't ask for a better view. From the incredibly soft bedding that makes you feel like your sleeping on a cloud to the very tastefully decorated furnishings, to the massive balcony and it's furnishings, it's a little piece of heaven on earth.

I will definately stay there again on my next visit :)
