Beautiful unit for an ideal vacation. This home is a top floor unit with great views, updated appliances, beautiful design and comfortable living. We have a terrific ocean view which you will be able to enjoy from the kitchen, living room and lanai. This home away from home has all the key amenities: laundry, wifi, smart hdtv, etc. Air conditioning newly installed and included in the pricing.

The lanai is perfect for enjoying a dinner with the sunset as your backdrop. The master bedroom has a new queen bed with full bath and the 2nd bedroom has two new twin beds (that can be made into a king) and a full bath, making it perfect for family stays. There is also a living room couch with pullout queen bed.

The kitchen is completely new with an open concept, island for eating and meal preparation convenience, new appliances including a french door fridge and double oven range. Large stainless steel sink and beautiful grey granite countertops. Kitchen is well stocked with new dishwater, cookware, kitchen utinsels.

The bedrooms have brand new comfortable beds and bedding with bright island colors, lots of closet and dresser space.

The bathrooms are impeccably done with careera marble floors, glass tiles in both showers (one bath), large mirrors with lots of light. Clean, crisp design that is livable and comfortable for families but also updated.

The outdoor pool and jacuzzi are perfect for winding down and enjoying the sunshine Maui has to offer. There is also an outdoor barbecue area that can accommodate larger groups of folks and is great to just grill up a meal.

This home is also within close distance of nearly everything you would want to enjoy on Maui. While there is a beach at the property, there are other nearby beaches well worth enjoying. Kamaole I, II, and III are all within a 10 minute drive, as is the Kihei Boat Ramp - a literal launching point for most snorkeling and diving trips to Molokini and along the southern shoreline. Great snorkeling is located nearby as well and some of the best kite surfing is just north about 5 minutes on Sugar Beach.

Groceries and restaurants are within a mile or so and there are several beautiful golf courses a short distance away.

Why Kris chose Kihei

This location is ideal for a Maui vacation. You can literally drop your bags and walk out to the beach for a dip in the ocean or relax by the pool. It is convenient to the best beaches on Maui: Keawakapu (my personal favorite), Kam beaches, Ulua reef (great for snorkeling) and also easily accessible to activities in the north as well. You can easily walk to shops with groceries, pizza and other basics. This unit has a terrific ocean view, all the conveniences of a brand new home and is a quiet peaceful retreat.

Nice place. Enjoyed our stay

Bottom line – we would rent this property again.


• As mentioned in the description, the condo has been recently refurbished. It is very nice.

• There are a lot of nice little “touches”. Example – there is a nice collection of pool and beach (chairs, umbrellas, cooler) accessories. We have rented similar condos (on Maui and elsewhere) where the accessories are either non-existent, or are just old crap that a previous tenant left behind.

• The condo complex is very well maintained.

• The communications and transactions with the owner (Kris) were easy and professional.

Not as good:

• The sound dynamics of the entire complex. Sounds/conversations from other condos and the grounds can be heard inside this condo. Fortunately, people did honor the quiet hours at night.

Fantastic Stay

My family and I were more than happy with our stay. The condo was fully stocked with everything we needed and was more than comfortable. The location was fantastic and proximity to the beach was great for morning walks and evening sunsets. Couldn't have been any better.

Numerous stairs and flawed communications by owner spoiled stay

Because my friend and I were arriving in the middle of the night, I requested guidance from the owner on locating C306 in the night. None was provided. As a result, my friend and I stumbled around in the dark and got soaked by sprinklers before discovering the C stood for the C building and 306 meant the 3rd floor. Once in the unit, there were more stairs leading to the loft area where the 2nd bed and bathroom are. Fortunately, I had been lifting weights since my bi-lateral mastectomy last October, or I wouldn’t have been able to haul my luggage up all 4 flights of stairs. (No elevator). The next day we decided to go to the pool and couldn’t get in. Subsequently, learned that the owner had given us the incorrect code. The information on the check-in and check out time 4pm - and 11 am as well as the deposit amount $500 that I received when my credit card was charged didn’t match with the information in the rental agreement that the owner insisted that I sign and email back to her before she would give me the door code. When I asked the owner to honor that 11 am check out time, I was told NO. On the positive side, the unit was clean, looked just like the pictures and we were able to see the ocean from the Lanai. This unit is NOT a good choice for anyone who isn’t in great shape. The lack of AC wasn’t a problem in February - but would be in the warmer months.

Owner's Response: Unfortunately, communication goes both ways. Some of these issues I'm hearing about for the first time. Clearly, other issues I did hear about and worked very hard to accommodate were not deemed as acceptable answers. Not much I can do about that even though much time and effort was made to please this guest. If any issue is raised I will do my very best to help sort and accommodate where I can. Pool codes can change without my knowing and yes, I have a 3rd floor unit which has a nice view and great breezes as a result. No elevators is not a surprise or problem for others and it is definitely open information at Luana Kai and it is stated on vrbo. Air conditioning is being install this May as well.

Lovely condo, nice property.

Pretty condo is just minutes from lots of fun activities, restaurants and gorgeous beaches. Small, but clean pool and well manicured grounds. The beach is a very short walk from the condo. It has a very gentle surf for the kids but has a lot of coral bits - bring your water shoes. The beach spot here is a nice place to watch the sunset. Overall we had a nice time!
