About the property

Lakefront Cabin- close-in, private - 1 Bdrm 1Ba w/ Sleeping Loft-sleeps 4 adults

Beautiful lakefront summer cabin with full kitchen, 3/4 bath, living room, 1 bdrm and spiral stairs to a sleeping loft with two beds, sitting area and TV for watching movies (no cable). It has a lawn, dock, and campfire ring. Located on Kelso Lake, a State maintained fishing lake with a "no gas motors" restriction, only electric trolling motors allowed for fishing boats. So it's perfect for folks that want to relax, swim, and enjoy each other without waterski boats and jet skis buzzing about. There is a 12' aluminum boat with trolling motor and a two person paddle boat for your use. Plenty of off road parking if you want to bring your own boat, with public boat ramps into Lake Pend Oreille and Coeur D'Alene Lake, each only 30 minutes away.

Located less than an hour from Spokane, WA with it's airport and "big city" activities, this cabin is located on an easily accessible, yet secluded and peaceful lake. Kelso Lake is 3 min off Hwy 95 between Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint, ID, just 10 min north of Silverwood Amusement Park, the largest amusement and water park in the Pacific Northwest. Legendary golfing, flightseeing, boat rentals, the Centennial Trail, awesome hiking trails, restaurants and shopping all available just 30 minutes away. The Route of the Hiawatha is a biking adventure or a zipline course in Wallace, ID, both 1.5 hrs away. Mountain biking at Schweitzer ski resort is less than an hour drive. Or just relax, swim, fish, paddleboat, play some bocci ball or fin pin on the lawn, lay out or read a book on the dock. Spend your evening around the campfire ring, listening to the train whistle in the distance.

About Lynn Alexander

Single mom of two beautiful daughters adopted from China. I grew up in Texas and New Mexico, lived in Louisiana, Colorado, Alaska, and landed in awesome Coeur d'Alene ID 20 yrs ago to play golf. I am a production manager for a renowned builder/manufacturer of custom roller coasters! I love to golf, ski, and drink good beer.

Lynn Alexander purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Lynn Alexander chose Idaho

We love this cabin because it's close (35 min drive) to our "all-the-time" home, but it makes us check out of the always present list of chores and really relax and enjoy each other without having to go very far.

What makes this cabin unique

Only 10 min from Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Water Park, 30 minutes from Coeur d'Alene with crazy good golf and 30 min to Sandpoint with ecclectic bars and restaurants.

Cozy cabin on the lake

  • 4 of 5

Minus one start for no dedicated parking, and a short hike downhill from the road to the cabin. Otherwise would have given it give stars. Loved the view of the lake from the windows, great row boat and paddle boat to play in. Very private. If we didn't live 8 hours away were stay here every year!

Beautiful views and quiet location!

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived the cabin was clean and welcoming. There was plenty of room for a family of 5. We had a great time fishing off the dock and using the paddle boat. Its quite a hike down to the cabin, it might be a little hard for older individuals. But not a problem with teenagers to help out! We ended each night around the campfire. It is truly a quiet and relaxing location. Lynn is very responsive to emails and very helpful. Will love to rent again next summer!

Superb Setting!

  • 4 of 5

Our group of 4 adults and 2 small dogs had a most enjoyable 4 night stay at this cabin/house. The owner had made everything clear in her description of the property, so the little trek up and down to the house was expected. It would have benefited from more lighting perhaps. We also knew that there was no AC and the owner had provided fans which was very much appreciated. The loft area naturally got the hottest, but we managed to sleep pretty well.

Our group was made up of 2 families and we managed well sharing the one bathroom. The men often used the outhouse! We didn't realise that the downstairs bedroom would have no wall or door. If you are one family and privacy is not a major priority you'll be fine. We worked out a system so that there were no unexpected surprises!!

The house was well equipped with games and items for lake fun too. We also brought along our own kayaks and bikes. The lake and the setting was BEAUTIFUL and very peaceful. The setting of the house most certainly was the best part of the stay for us. The cabin was also perfectly situated for the surrounding towns and of course, Silverwood!

The owner was very prompt in her replies to any questions or queries that we had. We appreciated that very much.

Great place to reconnect with family and dogs

  • 4 of 5

We had a good stay at the cabin on Kelso lake. The owner was very kind to allow us to take our 3 dogs. We all stayed outdoors most of the time enjoying the lawn area and the lake with paddle boat and aluminum boat. Also enjoyed playing games on the porch in the evening. Surprising that their were not that many flying insects at the lake.
