East Riverside House Rental Photos and Description

Outstanding Art Collector's Home

Eastlake Side-hall 1880's home was completely renovated to the highest standard with triple crown molding, exquisite furnishings, chandeliers and original art. It is magazine worthy. It is located on a double corner lot and has huge side yard with fruit trees, vegetable/herb garden and outdoor table, chairs and chaise lounge.

Sit on the front porch, as people do in New Orleans or walk around the corner to Magazine Street which has 6 miles of restaurants, bars, clothing shops, home furnishing shops, antique shops, grocery, pharmacy, banks, etc. Bus, a block away, will take you downtown to French Quarter. St. Charles Avenue streetcar is a few blocks away.

Home has living room with fireplace, two love seats and bench; full dining room with round table accommodating 6 people; chef worthy kitchen with original butcher block and table with three stools. Den has sleeper sofa and two chairs, desk, TV, fireplace and built-in bookshelves. Two bedrooms and two baths. One bedroom has king size bed with in-suite bathroom containing claw foot tub and marble shower. Second bedroom is smaller and has double bed. Second bathroom has tub w/shower. Laundry room on premises.

Owner is an art collector and has original art throughout the home. This is the first time this property is offered. Everyone who has walked into this home has been amazed how beautiful it is. You will be, too!

This property is completely gated.

Southern Hospitality at its Best

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this "Gem" was lovely. Its conveniently located one block from Magazine St. where there were many shops, restaurants, and bars. The home was very comfortable, and the little yard was a nice respite from city living. We lacked nothing. Would love to stay again.

NOLA "HomeAway" from Home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I travelled to NOLA to enjoy VoodooFest, a Saints game and Halloween weekend in one of our favorite cities. We were not disappointed by our wonderful stay at this absolutely lovely property. As others have said, Mary and Claudia were perfect and very friendly hosts. The house is luxuriously appointed with all the comforts of home. The location is great - a block from Magazine street for local food and shopping and outside the hustle/bustle of the quarter. While downtown attractions are an easy drive, we found it truly refreshing and relaxing to come home every night to the quieter streets of this pretty neighborhood. The second bedroom is "cozy," but there are a lot of open, airy common spaces so that two couples will still be comfortable - we look forward to visiting again with some friends very soon! Merci beaucoup Mary and Claudia!!

This gem is everything and more that has been described by others.

The owner and her daughter in law who assists with the property were readily available and most accommodating in every way. The sense of space and elegance is indescribable and the kitchen is a dream. EVERY room, every detail from the needlepoint hanger displayed in the perfect bathroom to the beautiful dishtowels and the fun and absolutely beautiful artwork is worthy of a magazine shoot. The house is designed and decorated with a creative eye for the tiniest of details from the crown molding, to the soft palette of the walls and fabric - it is a lovely, cool and soothing respite.

Great house, right off Magazine, for a perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

Had an excellent time in New Orleans for Jazz Fest, mainly because of where we camped every night. Staying here was such a treat. Everyone was comfortable, the house was beautiful, cozy and felt like a home away from home. It's in the heart of things to do between the Garden District and Uptown. It's a nice lazy stroll up Magazine, in either direction, and you're instantly in the heart of one of the two nicest districts in New Orleans. If you're looking to get the Bourbon Street experience, this isn't the place for you, go stay in the Quarter. If you want a more eclectic, varied, and rich experience of NOLA, stay here.
