About Lesley Petts

I came to Vancouver in the 1970's on my way around the world, fell in love with the city and never left. The first day I arrived here was glorious sunshine then it rained for 30 days but gradually the sun came out again and I could see those glorious mountains. I also got a job with Canadian Airlines which was a great company full of like minded people who liked to travel.

I still love Vancouver, especially Kitsilano with it's vibrancy, diversity, great restaurants, bike routes and close to everything Vancouver has to offer.

Lesley Petts purchased this apartment in 2006

Why Lesley Petts chose Vancouver

I've lived in Vancouver since the 1970's and usually close to Kitsilano but have always loved Kitsilano and moved there in 2006. I also like to renovate and this 1920's house definitely needed some TLC but the location was good and it was very liveable. We patched her up and enjoyed living there while we made plans for a major renovation. In 2013 we embarked on a 1 year renovation to turn it into a Kitsilano gem. Everything is new but as one of my neighbours said it looks about 100 years old, in a good way. We kept the Kitsilano charm but with all the modern conveniences. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun and I am very much enjoying living in my "new" house.

What makes this apartment unique

Kitsilano is close to everything you want to do in Vancouver but the street we live on is quiet and neighbourly. The house is a few steps away from a bike route that will take you on a nice ride West to Jericho beach, Jericho sailing club, Spanish Banks and UBC or east to Kitsilano Beach, Granville Island, Science world, English Bay and Stanley Park. It's also a 5 minute walk away from great bus routes that will take you to UBC or downtown in less than 20 minutes.

In the summer there is the farm market every Saturday where you can pick up fresh produce, have lunch at one of the food trucks and meet the locals. There are also several fresh produce shops on Broadway as well as men's and women's clothing shops, the Travel Bug, Kidsbooks, Ace Cycle and many more.

Vancouver has an extensive assortment of restaurants with food from many different countries. It is a good foodie city. There are also many festivals to enjoy such as the Jazz Festival with many free outdoor venues, the film festival, Childrens festival, Folk music festival, Fringe festival, Dragon boating and many more. In the summer we also have Bard on the Beach with it's big tents behind the Planetarium overlooking the water, the British Car show in Van Dusen Gardens, the Vancouver Marathon.

Perfect for 2 to visit Vancouver

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 4 nights at Lesley's suite in Kitsilano!

The suite ist absolutly perfect for 2! It is spotlessly clean, the bed and linens are top and the location can't be better! Public transport is easy to get there!

The best suite we ever rent on VRBO!

Thanks so much, Lesley!

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in Lesley's suite for over 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute.

The apartment is very clean, modern and comfortable, equipped with true attention to detail and with the guest's comfort in mind. I loved the comfy bed with pristine white cotton sheets, and I slept well every night. I liked the convenience of not having to remember to take a key as the front door opens with a combination lock. Although I was very busy and we did not see much of each other, Lesley was a great hostess, and always ready to help with any enquiry.

The location is excellent, just 2 blocks from a major shopping street - many many restaurants, yoga studio, fruit and veg stores, the public library, Safeway supermarket and more. Also on this street are major bus routes, downtown and to UBC, or to the skytrain etc. So convenient! 2 blocks in the other direction is another major shopping street with more of the same. Wow!

Despite being so near major shopping streets, the suite/house is in a quiet and charming neighborhood, with charming homes and gardens, and I loved walking around the area. Kits beach is not too far to walk to too.

I enoyed using the UBC heated swimming pool (you take the 99 bus to the UBC loop and a drop in pass costs about $6). I enjoyed the proximity of restaurants and recommend Mr Red Cafe for good Vietnamese food. Semperviva yoga studio is close by.

Thanks so much Lesley for providing lots of comforts like cookies, shampoo, novels, rainjackets and umbrellas and more. I had a really wonderful time, enjoyed staying in your suite very much and I hope to stay with you again.

Sweet suite, amazing location

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time pretending we live in this walkable Kitsilano/Point Grey neighbourhood. Lesley had everything set up and, when an unexpected water leak into her suite occurred, she graciously let us keep the booking, rearranged things so it was comfortable for us, and gave us a discount for the inconvenience. As my teenage daughter says, "10 out of 10, would beach again".

Another Perfect Stay

  • 5 of 5

This is my third time staying at Lesley's suite in Kitsilano and I still feel like it is a brand new listing. It is spotlessly clean, the bed and linens are top notch and the location can't be beat. So many great restaurants within walking distance, great public transportation close by and a wonderful little Greek bakery on Broadway that makes a baclava that I am now addicted to. Can't say enough good things about this rental! Thanks so much, Lesley!
