Well-equipped condo on the beach

  • 5 of 5

My wife, brother-in-law, and his girlfriend stayed in this unit for a week in July. It was well-equipped with flat screen TVs in each room, the kitchen had just about everything you'd have at home, and washer, dryer, etc. The decor, while simple, made the place feel very beach-y. If you are looking for a place that is just a short drive to Pier Park, shopping, and great restaurants. I would recommend this condo complex. Considering we were there in July, it was a good time to be in a quieter area. I had great communication with Emerald Cost Destinations and they would have addressed any issues with the unit (which we never had). Anyway, I hope this is helpful. Happy travels!

view was awesome, cleanliness was not.

  • 1 of 5

The layout and view of the condo was awesome. Can't beat it. The price was right. However, I personally changed out the A/C filter which had not been changed in evidently months. The shower curtain (cloth) in the master bath smelled like urine. (I replaced it with a cheap plastic one that actually looked better). The closets by the door and entry smelled musty. There appears to be black mold on the ceiling where the A/C vent is in the living room. Really? The washing machine did not work. (could not press the start button). The floors were so nasty dirty that your feet would be black from walking on it. (used flip flops to overcome that). The cosmetics of the place, well, this place needs a paint job. No big deal on that. It is what it is. But "cleanliness" is an EASY thing to fix and I wonder why I paid a cleaning fee? All that said, the price was affordable. So if you can overcome the cleanliness of the condo, the layout of the condo was nice and the view was awesome. Hard to beat 19 stories looking down on the beach.

Right church, wrong pew

  • 2 of 5

We have been going to the Dunes of Panama for 15+ years. This is the first time we have stayed in the 2 bedrooms. We were completely disappointed. The only reason we didn't complain was because there was nothing the rental office at The Dunes could do. We walked in, and in looking around there was an immediate sense of disappointment. There were small pieces of the ceiling that were sagging down or missing. Spackle was everywhere. Screws were sticking out of the wall and had merely been painted over. There is, what looked like to me, to be black mold on the ceiling of the living room. The washing machine did NOT work (the start button was jammed in sideways). The faucets of both bathrooms were so wobbly, I was afraid they would come out of the walls. The sheets did not fit the master bed properly. There wasn't even a single hanger to hang anything up in the closet at all.

It was just very run down looking. If it has been "newly remodeled", the owner has been ripped off! We will be back to the Dunes next year and will be staying in the E bldg again, but it will be a 3 bedroom.

Beautiful view and roomy condo

  • 4 of 5

The upgrades to the condo were nice but needed touchups completed. The rooms were all very big and never felt like we were running over each other. The box springs need upgrading/replaced as they squeak when you move. The master bedroom ceiling fan didn't work but we had taken an extra fan with us. You can hear the elevator as previous tenants mentioned but didn't bother me as it sounded like water running in the next condo. The view was amazing from the front door or balcony. You can see the ocean from the couch, dining table, kitchen, and master bedroom. The resort's pools were nice as well and plenty of seating. We would stay again.

Location Great, Complex Great, Condo not so great

  • 2 of 5

Reality differed from my initial very impressed first impression. The condo is very large, spacious and right on the beach; however, not very comfortable. There is a couch and a loveseat that are extremely worn out and need to be replaced. We did not use the pull out bed but I can not imagine that it would have been functional given the shape of the couch. Even had the couch and loveseat had been comfortable, there should be another seating option in the room such as a recliner. Bar stools would also have allowed for some additional seating. As noted in another review, the bed frame in the master is cracked and I feel for the person that experiences the fall when it breaks. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and there were no additional bedding such as mattress pad or blankets. We were provided minimal towels, ironing board with no iron, no kitchen towels and no entry mats to prevent trailing sand into condo. Description stated that this condo had been newly remodeled; however, we found a sloppy paint job that looked to be unfinished, no towel racks, no toilet paper holders, utility door off the rack, start button on the washer not working appropriately, no vanity light in the master bathroom/bedroom. Most of the issues I found have been pointed out in other reviews, so I am not sure why they have not been fixed. I assumed that they would have been fixed. This could be a really great place. We were vacationing with about 40 other people. If improvements were made, I would definitely rent this condo again.

Also --- Wifi access information should be provided when access information is sent.

Comfortable condo with all ammenities!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying in the 2 bedroom condo. We had enough room for parents and kids. The kitchen had everything we needed - nice updates. It was like a home away from home, but in Florida and directly on the beach...
