About the property

Very Large and Bright One Bedroom Garden Apartment in Montford Historic District

Newly furnished 1BD with all the comforts. Lots of windows give this large space a bright and airy feel, and the light hardwoods help keep it clean. Located in peaceful Historic Montford, it's just a 10-15 minute walk to downtown!

This apartment has new updates, including a new window in the bedroom, new kitchen accessories and curtains, new living room chairs, a new twin cot, and the couch was professionally cleaned in June 2017.

It is beautiful and spacious, with lots of light, and located in the best neighborhood in Asheville. This 1 bedroom apartment is a quick walk to downtown Asheville and has everything you need for a long or short stay.

Refrigerator, Cooktop, Convection oven, Dishwasher, Microwave, Washer/Dryer, Coffee Maker, French Press, Toaster, Ceramic Tea Pot, Cast Iron Pans, New Wave Enviro Water Filter, Stainless Cookware, DVDs, Books, Wireless Internet, (No Cable), MP3 player, Queen Bed, Rollaway Twin Cot, Dresser, Backyard, Outdoor Table

The apartment most easily accommodates two people, with a Queen Size bed. There is a rollaway twin cot for a 3rd person (new as of June, 2017), and a 4th person can sleep on the extra long, very flat couch (professionally cleaned with eco cleaning solutions in June 2017).

Check in: 3:00 pm. Check out: 11:00 am.

I think Montford is the best neighborhood in Asheville, and when I was looking to move out of my former apartment on Cumberland Ave in Montford, I searched for nearly a year for a house in the same neighborhood. I was fortunate to find this one. I can't say enough good about this neighborhood. It is the best for walking around and walking to downtown and back. It is truly beautiful, with so many historic homes. If you do plan to walk into town, there is a gradual incline on the way to Montford Avenue, but once you get to Montford Avenue, the walk into town becomes more level. If you don't like waking, the drive to town is just about 1 mile, and you can take Uber or Lyft for a few dollars.

If you get a chance, walk or drive down Montford Ave and Cumberland Ave and look at all the beautiful, historic homes. Montford has several amazing restaurants: Nine Mile for Jamaican or Caribbean, Chiesa for Italian (fresh-made pasta!), and Tod's Tasties, an artisan sandwich place, great for outdoor dining.

Asheville Area Transit stops at the intersection of Soco and Montford Avenue. It is a quick walk from here. The downtown bus station is also an easy walk from here. You can take Uber or Lyft to downtown for around $5.

House Rules: No smoking on the property. No burning candles or incense (or lighting flames) indoors or outdoors on the property. No pets. No parties.

About Kim Rogers

I love offering my ground level, garden apartment to guests. My son and I live above the apartment, on the main floor of the house, and I am often around. I often work at home, and I am often around. If there is anything you may need, please do not hesitate to ask. I like getting to know my guests and being of assistance whenever I can!

This is a downstairs apartment and I live above you with my son. We make all effort to keep footstep noise down. If you plan to sleep late in the morning, feel free to let me know so that I can keep any extra house noise to a minimum. Our neighborhood also has 2 dogs that may bark in the morning while they go on walks, but other than that, the house is on a very quiet, dead-end street with little road noise. Nonetheless, I provide a box of ear plugs and a fan for you if you need them.

What makes this apartment unique

One of my favorite things about the apartment is that it is so large and open. I also love the small lawn and stone patio right outside of your door (both of which are for your private use). I like that this house is on a dead-end road, with little traffic or road noise, and that you can enjoy a nice walk to downtown or the RAD, or Uber there and back for less than the cost of parking.

Cozy and comfortable and very well equipped.

  • 4 of 5

Comfortable bed, big bathroom well stocked with personal items you might have left home without. Close enough to downtown without being too close.

Super apartment for my wife and I !

  • 5 of 5

We had a great 5 night stay at this pleasant apartment. It was perfect for us. A very comfortable bed; a very functional kitchen and a washer & dryer in the spacious bathroom. Two major food stores were a short drive away and downtown Asheville was not much further.

Thanks Kim for all your suggestions.

Perfect for Weekend in Downtown Asheville

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is perfect for a weekend in Downtown Asheville, especially if you don't want the hassle of driving/parking. It is an easy walk to downtown that only took about 20 minutes. There is a little bit of an uphill on the way in at the very beginning, but not too bad. The apartment was clean and well cared for. The owner, Kim, was very friendly and super helpful. I will definitely be staying there again.

We had a great time staying here! It is cutely decorated and the owner made sure we had everything we needed. The location is great. We were able to walk into downtown Asheville for dinner every day, which was really nice to be able to do.
