Transport links to the property - by plane, the closest airport is Heathrow. Either take the Heathrow Express to Paddington station and take a taxi, the journey will take 20 minutes or take the tube (Piccadilly line) to South Kensington station, with a 5 minute taxi ride.

Another alternative is Gatwick airport. The Gatwick Express brings you directly to Victoria station, the taxi ride will take 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can go on the tube at Victoria, take the district or circle line to South Kensington or Sloane Square, the taxi ride will be 5 minutes long.

The property was a construction site. It never should have been listed. Repeated attempts to contact Home away by email were useless. No one ever responded to any of the emails that I sent. Furthermore the noise, the dirt , scaffolding outside my window the whole experience very un pleasant. I will not be using Home Away again.

I sent photos of the scaffolding and I have videos of the noise and people working on the scaffolding right outside my only window.

It would've been nice if someone at home away had the courtesy to answer my emails

Owner's Response: We were saddened to read Jeanne's complaint here as we work exceptionally hard to provide our guests with excellent service while they stay with us - and this can be seen in our feedback from our many happy guests. However, some things are out of our control. It is true that due to planned maintenance of this landmark 1930's building there is scaffolding erected until the end of July 2016 whilst it is re-painted and some windows are replaced in phases of work (and this is stated in the VRBO apartment description along with the fact that we have reduced our prices accordingly) but to describe it as a "construction site" is an exaggeration.The builders are only allowed to work between 8am and 4pm Mondays to Fridays and as most guests are out during the days this does not interfere with their stay at all. Some scaffolding has already been removed and the rest will be down by the end of July 2016 I am aware that you have raised a complaint to VRBO and after we responded they consider the case closed. As stated before, we work hard to ensure our guests have a pleasant stay with us and pride ourselves on our caring and responsive customer service. We certainly tried our hardest to respond to your needs during your stay but as the exterior works were out of our control and we were booked out this was difficult. We hope that next time you are in London you will call by to see the improvements in the exterior once the scaffolding is down and should you allow us the opportunity, we will endeavour to make your next stay a better experience for you.

Bien situé

Très petit loft, 2 personnes max (standard nord americain) mais très bien situé pour visiter la ville, beau quartier, plein de bons restaurants à qques minutes à pieds ainsi que pharmacie, épicerie juste en face. Excellent service de Fiona à notre arrivée et par la suite pour répondre à nos besoins (ventilateur car pas de clim). Par contre, l'édifice est en rénovation et on ne voit à peine dehors, c'est sombre en raison des échafaudages et des filets de protection dans toutes les fenêtres, ce qui nous a vraiment déçu. J'aurais apprécié un bon rabais pour compenser. On devait regarder la metéo sur le net avant de sortir. De plus le matelas est vraiment inconfortable, on sent les ressorts dès la première minute. Je recommanderais d'attendre la fin des réno, j'ai suggéré de renouveller le matelas.

Slightly smaller than anticipated, but it did the job for 4 nights. Suitable for one person only really. Big thanks to Fiona who promptly organised for the tv to be fixed when it proved to be not working.

Would definitely stay at NGH again, but next time in a bigger flat as for me there was simply not enough space.

Lovely neighbourhood with lots of eateries and good shopping.

Apartamento pequeño pero con una relacion calidad precio excelente. Tiene recpcion 24 horas. Muy limpio, muy bien situado, en una zona muy buena con un autobus, el 11, a 5 minutos andando que en 15 minutos estabas en el Big Ben. Por poner una pega le faltaba un poco de cafe, azucar, etc, pero tiene lavavajillas. Sin duda nos volveremos a alojar aqui cuando volvamos a Londres.

Sightseeing trip to London with my daughter

This apartment was perfect for my daughter and I to see the sights of London. The apartment was very clean, the front desk personnel were very helpful, the neighborhood is very nice, and the tube station is an easy walk. Highly recommended as a home base for sightseeing.

Conveniente para visitar la ciudad

El departamento es tal cual lo muestran las fotos. Está en un edificio con portero las 24hs en un barrio seguro con un supermercado enfrente y un centro comercial muy cercano. A unos 7 minutos de marcha de la estación de South Kensington que llega hasta el aeropuerto Heathrow. Para recibir a dos personas es confortable. Tiene lavasecarropas, lo cual es de mucha ayuda. Cuando llegamos no funcionaba ni el microondas ni la caja fuerte. Fiona y Charlotte, responsables de la propiedad, nos propusieron cambiar el microondas. Pero nosotros no quisimos pues no lo creímos necesario. En el mismo día resolvieron el problema de la caja fuerte. Eso habla muy bien del compromiso de los responsables con el viajero. Nos devolvieron el depósito en tiempo y forma. Quedamos completamente satisfechos con la propiedad. Solamente señalamos que tal vez debieran mejorar el control del funcionamiento del equipamiento antes de que tomen posesión los inquilinos. Está muy cerca del Museo de Victoria y Alberto (recomendamos visitarlo) y de Harrods. El resto de la ciudad está perfectamente vinculado por el metro.

This large, chic studio apartment is situated in an iconic art deco building of serviced apartments in the heart of the fashionable Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the epicentre of all that's great about London.

The apartment is perfectly located for vacations, boutique shopping and work. It is just a few minutes’ walk from the designer shopping, bars and numerous Michelin starred fine-dining restaurants on the Kings Road and Sloane Street, not to mention Knightsbridge - home of the world's best department store - Harrods - just a 10 minute walk away.

Take a stroll around the corner into South Kensington and you will find major tourist attractions including the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, as well as the other museums to be found on Exhibition Road. Nearby are the delights of Hyde Park, Kensington Palace and Gardens and the Albert Memorial. Buckingham Palace is 2 stops away on the tube (5 minutes) or a 15 minute stroll.

There are numerous entertainment venues in the vicinity including the Royal Court Theatre, The Royal Albert Hall and the Cadogan Concert Hall, just two minutes’ walk from Sloane Square.
