Clean and Cozy

  • 5 of 5

This property was perfect for us! My mom and I brought my dog along for the fun, and the fenced yard made life easier. The house is only a couple minutes walk to the ocean and close to grocery stores and restaurants. We had such a relaxing time and didn't want to leave! When we make it back down to the IOP coast, we will definitely be staying at this cozy bungalow again!

Great location with few issues on the property.

  • 4 of 5

Overall it takes about 5 minutes to walk to IOP beach, which is the main reason we booked the property. IOP allows dogs to be off leash until 9:00a.m. which is great.

Just a few negatives for us: The property had at least three lights that weren't working, probably due to old bulbs. The deck outside had a few boards that may not even be connected and wobble severely when stepped on.

We weren't given check-in information until the day of when I had to email.

You rent for the location, so overall it was a fine experience.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the great feedback, we always strive to make the cottage better with each stay. We have recently replaced all the lightbulbs in the house and the large light fixture in the kitchen has been completely replaced. Our team will also address the boards on the deck. We hope you had a great time and will come again soon!

Amazing location. Some small improvements/additions would be appreciated

  • 4 of 5

Pros: Location, location, location. Close to the beach, grocery store, shopping, and restaurants. So easy to hop on to the connector and avoid all the Isle of Palms traffic getting to the connector. Great size for a family of four. Clean.

New sheets for the queen bed. They are very worn.

Dresser in the bunk room. There was no where to put my children's clothes.

Cutting board for the kitchen.

More plates, bowls, and silverware. Felt like I had to run the dishwasher too many times so we would have dishes (family of 4).

We didn't have any trash bags in the kitchen or the bathroom.

A mat for the backdoor to wipe feet on coming in from rising off. We had to put a beach towel down.

The tv has some issues. The cable was fine but the tv would scramble. This was very frustrating when you have kids up at super early. A DVD player would be great or at least a way to hook one up (would be a great bonus!).

The kitchen overhead light is not working properly. It needs to be checked. We had to constantly mess with the light bulbs and reset the surge protector. We finally just left it on.

A check-out information sheet would have been helpful. We just winged it based on other vrbo places.

We are pleased to say that there is now a brand new bed in the master bedroom and a brand new TV! All lights and light fixtures have been updated and the house is restocked with supplies! Thank you again for staying at the cottage, we hope you come again soon!!

Unbeatable Location

  • 4 of 5

My three grandsons and I visited the Charleston area for a Civil War excursion. I rented this house so we could be close to the beach and have a place to cool off and relax after a day of touring. It met our needs exactly. The house is two blocks from multiple free beach accesses and very close to convenient shopping. Area historical attractions are within easy driving distances, so we didn't feel we spent most of the trip driving like we have on many past trips.

The house is small but clean. There is a small dining table in the living room. You probably wouldn't want to try to host a formal dinner, but it worked well for four guys on a mission. Loved the secluded small deck behind the house, where we grilled every night on the charcoal grille and sat talking before retiring.

There are more spacious, luxurious and expensive rentals available in this area but you would be hard pressed to find a more convenient location.

Simple, close to everything and a good salve for the real world

  • 4 of 5

You have to love the location and the simple charm of it. My family of four were very happy here for our beach time. Clearly there are more luxurious homes on IOP but this is more like where you remember growing up: a real family home. Yes, yes there are some imperfections like a persnickety kitchen light and only a two person table but you didn't come for the table. Get to the beach which is like a block away. Susan was a concerned and engaged owner who checked on us and worked to resolve even the small things she could. Best bargain on the isle. Tiny umbrellas for your drinks not included.

Great stay

  • 4 of 5

Great location. Quiet and safe neighborhood very close to the beach. The only suggestion would be better beds and new blinds to replace the slats that are missing! We would stay again. Had a great dinner at Morgan Creek Grill. Check in was easy and Luxury Simplified employees were super helpful!! Thanks Brittany and Luke!!
