About the property

4 Bedrooms, 3.25 Baths, Sleeps 12

Enjoy this quiet and peaceful beach retreat located in the Folly Field area. With just a short walk to the beach, this home has 2600 square feet of open living space with new tile floors throughout with a fenced-in backyard. The garage is not for guest use.

The kitchen has recently been updated with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances; a breakfast nook offers seating for four. The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and flows into an open living room, which has cathedral ceilings, seating for ten and a large flat screen television.

Four bedrooms are located on the second floor and will comfortably sleep up to twelve people. The first bedroom at the top of the stairs is very spacious with two queen beds, a sleeper sofa and flat screen TV. The remaining three bedrooms are located down a private hallway that is secluded from the rest of the house. The master bedroom has a private bathroom that has recently been updated with multiple vanities, garden tub and a rain shower. The third bedroom has a queen bed and private bathroom; the fourth bedroom has two twin beds, with access to a hallway bathroom.

Located mid-island, Folly Field has become one of Hilton Head's most sought after destinations for those who love the beach. Just a quick drive down Folly Field Road gets you to the public beach access. The architecture of Folly Field properties is pleasantly eclectic, from modern mansions to old-fashioned beach cottages. The area is quiet and private, with an abundance of natural foliage and wildlife, complimenting the natural white-sand beaches. A short drive in either direction will lead to a great selection of restaurants and shopping along William Hilton Parkway.

Extremely nice property

  • 5 of 5

My family and I (10 total) truly enjoyed our stay at 3 Camellia. The home itself was clean, large and inviting. Some of the furnishings have been redone so it doesn't look exactly like it does in these pictures, but nothing that detracts from the house itself. A few things we noted while we were there: 1) Watch out for the random steps around the house, especially on the second floor. They aren't marked, like on the catwalk and heading into the hallway leading to the bedrooms, and presented a small issue with younger children and our older family members. Its all tile too so very slippery. 2) One of the blades on the living room fan was missing, so we couldn't turn it on; luckily, the AC kept up and we didn't feel a need to (we went in early August). 3) The door on the fridge isn't set right, so it sounds like its coming off the hinges; nothing bad, but just sounds horrible and makes it loud. And the pantry door doesn't shut so we had to wedge something in the corner to keep it closed and out of the way. 4) Go buy or bring some extra dishwasher liquid and laundry detergent. They leave some, but since there were so many of us we used it up pretty quickly. 5) The house is about a half mile away from the beach. Again, not a big deal, but it was further than I had thought, and with 2 little ones with short legs, it made walking more of an issue. I wish we had thought to rent bikes, that would have been a lot better! 6) There is a storage container on the front porch that has a TON of sand toys in it. We didn't look inside till the last day, but it was totally worth it. No need to buy or bring your own. 7) Apparently the neighbor comes over to use the outside trash cans...Not sure about this one but he spoke to my husband and said it was cool, but it was weird. 8) On our check out date, we had a large SUV pull into the side driveway and just sit, apparently waiting for us to leave. The female occupant never looked up or waved or spoke to us. She showed up over an hour before we were supposed to check out at 10, so it made us feel awkward and rushed. 9) Wifi was very limited and poor. We are a techie family so it didn't support us well...We had to talk to each other :)

Overall, we all loved this rental. It was more than adequate for our family needs, is located in a lovely place and was just wonderful. We had a great vacation and would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a great getaway!

Nice property!

  • 5 of 5

The house is nice and reasonable for the area. Our family had a great time! It is a 10 minute walk to the beach and close to anything you might need. The house also has anything you may need in it. We had one clogged drain and they fixed it immediately. My only criticism is that the internet connectivity is really bad. It didn't matter that much to us, but the small amount of work several of us had to do was not made easy with the poor connection. If you are planning on using the internet a lot when you are there just be sure to have alternate arrangements. We tried resetting the router several times and it just did not work well.

Overall the house was great for a week vacation for a larger family. The beach is great and the Folly Field section of town was a great area.

Very roomy, clean, and comfortable!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed this rental! Starting out we had 7 adults and 4 children staying in this home. With our different schedules, it was so nice to have the key pad entry for the front door. The home was VERY spacious and clean. (Although not super kid friendly, we were able to put up baby gates were we needed.)

I loved the open living room with all the other rooms separated from the house. There was even a door that closed off the rooms from the living room which helped with noise. Almost all of the rooms had their own designated bathroom which worked great for our party. The master room was very comfortable and I loved the bathroom!!

The dining area was prefect for our large family with the smaller table in the kitchen for the kids.

I had 3 issues with this rental which is why it got a 4 star instead of a 5 star.

1) There was trash at the road from the previous visitors on Saturday when we arrived. It was finally picked up on Wednesday only after I called to have it removed. The smell and bugs were horrible for half the week. I was told that trash pick up was Tuesday and Thursday which was obviously missed. I will note that when I called the issue was taken care of by Wyndham promptly.

2) The air conditioner on the first level never really cooled to what we wanted. It wasn't uncomfortable but it was noticeable when you walked downstairs that it was much warmer in that part of the house. We tried to make it cooler but it just wouldn't cool down.

3) The back yard is NOT kid friendly. There is no yard whatsoever for them to play. There was a table (no grill which I thought was included) but everything else was plants and flower in pine straw. If you don't have kids, this shouldn't be an issue!

Overall we really enjoyed every part of this rental. It was comfortable, clean, had a great location to Folly Beach. It was in walking distance or you could drive and there was always available parking. This rental is close to a putt putt golf place, tons of restaurants, and grocery stores, and had lots of available paths to ride your bikes. Great rental!! We would definitely stay here again!!!!

Nice location and home, but slept horribly

  • 3 of 5

House was great, but the master bed had a mattress protector that doesn't breathe, which meant we were really hot and slept horribly. The bonus room had two double beds, but the headboards were not attached properly and fell forward when you layed on them. Unfortunately, for these reasons, we would not stay here again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. We're sorry that you did not experience the vacation that we strive to provide all of our guests. Since your departure, we have secured all headboards and have looked into getting another mattress cover. Right now, we typically put waterproof covers on all beds to protect the mattresses but limits the air flow. Again, we truly appreciate your feedback and hope you give us the opportunity to provide a better experience on a future visit to the Island!
