Guestbook comments from the manager

My wife and I arrived about 30 hours ago from the Toronto area. This our second vacation on Hilton Head Island. The home is very spacious, very high quality appointments in all bathrooms bedrooms and kitchen. Very quiet, private, hide away atmosphere. The forecast for our week looks really sketchy but the comfort and beauty of this home makes that less concerning for sure. We love the bike ride in and out of the resort or to the beach. I would 100% return to this home and would do so with 2 to 4 more adults, without hesitation. We could not be happier.

Great home

  • 5 of 5

It is a lovely home, well furnished and lit and plenty of room for our 3 boys. We loved the location, 5 minutes bike to beach.

few minutes to shopping and restaurants.

one thing the house could use , update sun room door lock, back door lock was very sticky .

main tv picture needs to be HD.

we really enjoyed it.

Very, very comfortable, with a few glitches

  • 4 of 5

This is a very comfortable, spacious home. The seating in the living area is very comfortable, both couch and chairs. The kitchen is spacious and has all the bells and whistles. Downstairs are two BR, one king, one queen. The beds were very comfortable. Upstairs is a BR with two twins. All have their own full bath. The neat thing is that, because of the house layout, there is privacy and noise separation between all 3 bedrooms. The two downstairs bedrooms are also on separate HVAC controls. Everything was very clean and orderly.

The sunroom is beautiful, but totally unusable in hot summer months. It has no insulation and cannot be cooled. We left the door open to it one day and no luck. It appeared to have a space heater, so this might be nice for a winter retreat.

The ice maker did not work. They brought us ice, which was sufficient for us, but might be annoying for a larger family that uses a lot of ice, especially since the refrigerator is the old fashioned kind with a small freezer on top. I had noticed a review from 2 months ago mention the ice maker and thought, surely they had repaired that by now....evidently not. I found that surprising for a Wyndham property.

My friend complained afterwards of a very slow internet connection. I didn't use it much and didn't notice.

Everything else was in perfect working order.

The neighborhood is quiet and the yard is lovely and well kept. The entire Shipyard area is very pretty with plenty of walking paths. The walk to the beach was not what I would call short, but it was perfectly doable. Bring a cart if you have a lot of stuff. The drive is much longer, since the walking path takes a shortcut that the car cannot. The Shipyard beach access was very busy, lots of people, but not excessively crowded. We went early to get parking. There is an overflow parking area and a tram that runs between it and the beach access point.

We were able to rent beach chairs, there are restrooms and outdoor showers, and a small kiosk sells beer and a few munchies. There is an outdoor cafe, which we didn't used and was completely unavailable on Saturday due to weddings. It goes without saying - the beach was gorgeous. I've stayed in Hilton Head often, and it's awesome.

A Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

This home is located at the end of Kingston Dunes Rd and borders the golf course. It is absolutely beautiful and very spacious. There were only two things that we felt need addressed and they are that the king bed mattress and ice maker need replaced. We purchased a bag of ice to compensate so it was not a huge deal, but the people sleeping in the king bed were somewhat uncomfortable. This home's location overall on the island was perfect for us...a nice walk to the beach and of course close to golf, shopping and dining. Would recommend this to others and would stay again if in the area and available.

From making the initial reservations through check out the entire process was very simple. It was great having received our arrival packet prior to leaving home as we were able to go directly to the house when we arrived late in the evening. Many thanks to the owners and to Wyndham for the great accommodations and ease of use.

Beautiful private home!!!

  • 5 of 5

The home was beautifully and tastefully decorated, furniture was comfortable, there was ample seating and the home was spacious for the 6 adults in our family! The price was terrific and it was in a quiet community that was a reasonable walk to the beach. The carpets had just been cleaned and the home was well maintained. We only had a few issues; our first morning the grounds crew cut the grass at 7 am next door, the 2 propane tanks for the grill were both empty, and a cat died under front porch. The Wyndham staff was great and took care of the propane tanks and the dead cat the same day that we called!! Short drive to stores and restaurants, and while walking to the beach we saw an abundance of wild life (deer, herons, turtles...) in the area. We would 100% recommend this home!!
