Tennis at Hilton Head

  • 5 of 5

We were 5 couples playing in a tournament at Hilton Head Island. The location of this home was perfect and dining was not far away, the beach is walking distance and we had access to a pool and hot tub making it more enjoyable for us so we can soak our sore muscles :). The home was beautiful and well maintained, I plan on spending a week next year to enjoy the area some more.

A great home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We booked this home several months ago. Right before we left, I checked the listing for some details and saw one of the reviews. I must admit I was concerned. We were pleasantly surprised to find a perfect house for our large group. We found the house to be very clean and smelling fresh. We really had no problems or complaints and we are a picky group. No, there was no garage access but that was made clear to us from the start and we didn't have the need for it as there was plenty of parking and ample place to store bikes and beach gear. The property is quiet and private so leaving our items on the side of the garage or in back was no problem at all. The house is located on a beautiful street just a short bike ride or walk from a quiet beach. The pool area is great. It has a view of the golf course (not so close that it interfered with our privacy) and the yard is nicely landscaped. We found the interior of the home very comfortable with a beautiful kitchen, comfortable great room for family time, comfortable beds and enough privacy for our group of 12. We had some rain so the extra room in the house worked well. We were able to take advantage of the free tennis and that was a nice savings. There is a black out time for a short time each morning but that didn't really affect us much. The tennis center is a bike ride away (not really a walk). We have been going to HH for many years and would definitely return to this home. It was a real home away from home and made our vacation a very memorable one.

Surprise return visit

  • 4 of 5

Upon check-in, we realized we had stayed in this same property about 4 years ago! It has had a few nice upgrades in the kitchen and main living areas (flooring and appliances). It is a short walk to the beach, which we didn't mind.

Two of the bedrooms (particularly the Q and the D/D) are pretty tight which is not very evident in the photos.

All other amenities were as expected. Bathrooms are clean and well-maintained but not upgraded. There is only seating for 9 at the bar and dining table, I would suggest some folding chairs or modular seating that could be available to guests so that everyone can eat together. Kitchen is spacious for multiple people doing different prep activities in the kitchen. The only small appliances were a blender, toaster and coffee pot, so if you're more of a foodie, you'll have to make accommodations (e.g. food processor, etc.)

Booking process was simple, I received car passes and check-in info well in advance. The only person we really interacted with was from the pool service and he was very personable.

Musty smell and no garage access

  • 1 of 5

Our family just stayed here and we're disappointed. While the kitchen has been updated, the bedrooms and bathrooms were not. The bedrooms had a bad musty smell which caused our clothes to smell after a couple of days in addition to the sewage smell that was prevalent in the laundry room and powder room. The owner does not allow access to the garage but after mentioning that we would need to bring things into the house on the hardwoods, the agent came and allowed limited access for our sandy strollers and chairs. We've been to HH for 30+yrs , not one we would rent again.

Nice quiet neighborhood with tree lined streets, sidewalk, minutes bike ride to beach

  • 4 of 5

We had 5 adults and 4 kids ( 3 familys)staying at 19 Sea Lane drive. We enjoyed our hot tub ( once it was heated) and the kids enjoyed our pool. Nice private backyard on golf course. Pretty neighborhood in Palmetto Dunes. We recommend renting bikes. Very reasonable and makes getting to the beach soooo easy. Also riding the bikes on the beach is awesome fun.

The house was nice. The main living space was updated..the kitchen and the family room were clean and open with nice hard wood floors and granite counter tops, and higher end appliances.. The bedrooms all had carpet😬򛈬𘀠Which was in Okay condition. The bathrooms could be updated, but were clean. Master had newer counter top.

This was our SECOND VRBO. The first had a better stock of cleaning supplies, towels, etc, so I was not fully prepared for some things we should have brought. My fault, as I guess this is standard. Kroger was close, so it was no problem ( coffee filters, garbage bags, dish soap, kitchen towels etc). Having washer and dryer is a godsend, when it comes to getting home.... If only my kids separated their clean and dirty clothes when they packed.

The Wyndham Rental agency was great...keyless entry, kept us informed, and called to check how how our stay was going. We had an issue with the hot tub, which they were on top of. Pool guy was there on a Sunday to help us. Pool was under a tree, so there was a lot debris all the time, even as the pool guy cleaned it. Luckily my kids LOVED to skim the pool to keep it clean. They did that frequently throughout the day. The pool guy was thankful.

It would have been nice to have instructions on the DVD player. We brought DVDs which we could not use...never figured it out.

All in all. It was a great stay, and a lovely home. We were also very lucky with our weather. Wish we were still there!

Thank you Wyndham☘

PS. I thought I lost something valuable after out stay. I called Wyndham, and spoke to the lovely agent that helped us with the pool issue. She found time to go to the house herself and look for my lost item. She called me back several hours later to report that she did not find it, but she would keep looking. I think her name was Tanesha. She was wonderful and very professional. Lovely to deal with. I did find the item😬򛀠At the bottom of my spate purse, so all is good. Thanks again!💚𶠠The Benjamin O'Brien Devlin Family from Michigan/ Illinois. Wish we were still there!
