About Christy Chamberlain
We have been renting our cabins for 10 years and are committed to making your stay with us as enjoyable as possible. Our family owned business consists of Gordy & Judy Groff and our son Steve, his wife Megan and two children Chloe & Ella. We have three other grandchildren, Katie, Kristie and Nick which enjoy coming to the mountains and helping with any project we are doing to improve the properties. Beth Morningstar is our property manager and takes care of any questions or problems you may have during your stay. She is very quick to return any calls and takes care of problems in a very timely fashion. We all love nature and the mountains and are drawn to water like the beautiful Raystown Lake. We travel often and want to have our guests experience the same quality stay we would enjoy. We all work during the summer to make any improvements on our cabins to make your stay with us more enjoyable. We purchased the property in 2005 and since that time have upgraded furniture, decks and the front porches. From the front porch you can and relax as you enjoy a cool drink and feel the cool breeze as the evening sets in. There are 6 chairs around the fire pit so you can enjoy time with family and friends or just enjoying everyone roasting marshmallows. The back deck is convenient to have your morning coffee while overlooking our ten acre wooded area and watching all the wildlife.

Loved the outside of the property. Very private!
We loved the cabin but there are some things I wish the owners would think about. The biggest issue was the musty smell down stairs. Maybe a dehumidifier or another air conditioner? The mattress was terrible we didn’t sleep all three nights. Now I know it’s a cabin but your paying for the comforts of home. The housekeeping was terrible. The fridge was dirty and the oven needs cleaned. The shower had a lot of scum and the shower curtain needs replaced. Toothpaste on the handles and faucet. Ceiling fan has so much dust on it. I’m sorry, I have a cleaning business and these are the things that should be cleaned for every guest.
We are happy that you enjoyed the outside of our cabin and the privacy that the location offers. We apologize for the inconveniences you had during your stay. We promise that we are working on these issues. We have had a substantial amount of rain this season that lends to the musty smell, but we are working to resolve this. We will work with our cleaning crew to ensure that the property is cleaned properly and ready for guests. Thank you for your review, Christy

Extremely serene setting, wonderful location and very clean! My first VRBO rental and couldn't be happier. Loved that we could bring our dog. Owners and rental neighbors very friendly and inviting atmosphere. Looking forward to doing something similar next year.
