Freshly Renovated Beachy Studio!

Bedrooms 1
Space 350 sq. ft.
Property type apartment

About the property

Studio, sleeps 4, kitchen, footsteps to the beach! Great place to come home to.

Time goes fast! Slow it down island-style in this studio apartment by the beach. With a queen bed, two single beds, a bathroom and a small full kitchen, this is the perfect home base for a family vacation, or getaway for two. Beach is 2 minutes (or less) walk from the front door, literally just across the street. All linens and towels provided, free wi-fi and tv. Some beach toys and boogie boards available to borrow. This place has everything you need and will leave plenty of budget for island exploration!

Freshly renovated October 2017. New paint, new flooring, new bathroom vanity breathe some new life into this sweet little pad.

Laie is a great neighborhood to live or vacation in. The spirit of Aloha is alive and well here and you will feel more like a local than a tourist in this small town.

Attractions in or near Laie include:

A variety of hiking trails of all difficulty levels lead you into the lush tropical forest, some winding along stream beds, and others climbing all the way to the ridge of the Ko'olau mountain range. Many trails end at breathtaking, secluded waterfalls that will make you feel like you're the only person on earth.

Spend a day (or two) exploring and learning about the many different cultures of Polynesia. The center is made up of seven different authentic "villages," each representing a different island culture. The dancing, music, cultural presentations and activities will keep you (and your kids) entertained for hours. They also put on fantastic and delicious nightly luaus. Their evening show is spectacular, not something to miss out on.

The beaches in Laie are dreamy and crowdless. The sandy Hukilau Beach is literally footsteps from your front door, and you could easily spend an entire vacation swimming in the cool blue water, lazing on the sand, and walking/jogging miles along the coast. East-facing for fantastic sunrises over the water. It’s a great beach for kids as well, with provided beach toys and boogie boards to help keep them busy.

Within 15 minutes drive, you will encounter world-famous surfing beaches including Pipeline and Sunset, and impressive snorkeling at the Shark’s Cove marine preserve, with an endless variety of other beaches in between. All shoreline in Hawaii is public property and there are public access points all along the coast.

Gunstock Ranch, about half a mile away, has horseback riding tours that will take your breath away and show you the country side of this small town.

At the recently-opened Keana Farms Zipline Adventure, see the tropical rainforest from an entirely different perspective.

A surprising array of restaurants are located in Laie. Everything from your average chain places (Subway, Taco Bell, etc) to truly unique food experiences like Hukilau Cafe, Seven Brothers Backyard Burgers, Pounders at the Hukilau Marketplace, and Papa Ole’s Kitchen. Something for everyone.

This apartment is part of our home that serves as housing for students of the nearby BYU-Hawaii most of the year. It has its own separate entrance from the rest of the house, and there are no shared common areas. The only time you might cross paths with another tenant will be in the laundry room, located at the back of the house.

Also please note, to keep our prices rock bottom we do not provide A/C. There are ceiling fans and stand fans in the studio to help keep you cool.

Studio by the beach

  • 5 of 5

Studio was clean with a nice bathroom. There is a beautiful beach close to be right across the road. A great breakfast place around the corner. A grocery store right down the street. We bought fresh fish from a man two doors away.

Great Place for the money and very clean

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. Loved being over on the none commercial side of the island. It was very close to the road but most everything is in the town. Since no air condition we had to leave windows open so loud to sleep. Not impossible Lots of students in other apartments but very nice and not that noisy. They were very friendly as well. The mattress's really need to replaced. Owners were very easy to work with and took care of our question quickly. I would stay again

Great for the Price

  • 4 of 5

It definitely isn't the fanciest place to stay but for the price it was totally adequate. The location was amazing. Less than 3 minutes to walk to the beach. Close to good restaurants and the PCC.

Fantastic & Exciting!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This location was perfect for me and my kids. We were in walking distance to the Hukilau Beach, Laie grave yard, Hukilau Café and Family members. The unit me and my kids stayed in was more than adequate for our one week stay here in Laie, HI. It had all the amenities that were needed to enjoy our stay. Other renters at this location are very friendly and easy going. I love this small town of Laie and I am looking to coming back again in the future. Mahalos for making this possible for us.

Exactly as described, this is a PERFECT little get away.

  • 5 of 5

This studio is exactly as decribed!! So close to everything, grocery store is about a 1/4 mile. Laundry on site. Highly recommend!!

There is no air conditioning. I thought it would be hard to bare coming from a much colder climate. There are always natural breezes blowing through the huge windows and fans in the unit made it extremely comfortable.

I love that the rest of the house is rented to students that room together and walk or bike to the University. The girls living in the rest of the house were very nice and super quiet. Thank you for helping provide an affordable place for our youth to get a better education, and for allowing us to enjoy exactly what I embodied as a true Hawaiian vacation. I will be back!!

About Jenne Paddock

Originally from opposite coasts of the US, my husband and I met, fell in love and had our three babies in the idyllic island town of Laie. We love the outdoor lifestyle and are passionate about traveling. One of the best things about going on a trip is knowing we will come home to our own little slice of paradise!

Jenne Paddock purchased this apartment in 2007

Why Jenne Paddock chose Laie

We bought this home in 2007 at the very start of our marriage. It was old, tiny and full of potential. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into making it what it is today. We did much of the work ourselves, making memories and putting our love into it.
