Why Paul Ramsey chose Salida

The solitude here is unmatched. The house is perched on a ridge just minutes from downtown Salida, and every room and window offers beautiful views. Perhaps the most relaxing part of the house is being able to wake in the morning and see views from any room. As you drink your morning coffee, keep a lookout for deer making their way across the property.

Everything and More!

  • 5 of 5

The house was everything and more! Plenty of space for two families, 6 adults and 2 children to spread out and be comfortable. The home had everything we needed to cook meals, play games and just to relax. Breath taking views from every window! We absolutely loved our time here. Thank you so much!

Great location. Plenty of room. Great views. Close to Monarch Mountain.

  • 5 of 5

Great experience. 25 minute drive to Monarch Mountain. Plenty of room to spread out. Detailed instructions for the house and amenities allowed for a seemless check in and out. Great views. Appreciate the stars at night, pretty neat. Would book again. Thank you for sharing your house.

Beautiful, relaxing cabin in the perfect setting!

  • 5 of 5

We spent Thanksgiving in this beautiful home in the foothills surrounding Salida. We had a wonderful time. The house is in a perfect spot with amazing views from just about every window. The house is spotlessly clean and well-stocked. It also has a lot of nice touches, like original artwork and a very thorough guide for exploring the area. There were eight of us in our party, and the house was roomy enough for us all. When I had questions, I just texted the owners, Paul and Sarah, and they responded promptly. Very highly recommended! We hope to stay here again next year.

Beautiful Home!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home. It felt isolated, but we still walked into town for some fresh air. The porch was wonderful for morning coffee and the kitchen was fabulous for intimate dinners. Saturday night at 1am there were a pack of yapping and howling animals outside, it was really incredible and we believe they were coyotes. We also held an outdoor yoga session on the stone patio. It was perfect. Thank you for a memorable trip!

Perfect place for a retreat

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect house for our book club retreat. It was really clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was great and the living area has a beautiful view of the mountains. The bedrooms were nice. There ended up only being 6 of us which was good. It might have been a little tight if all 9 of us had gone but for 6 it was fantastic. We really enjoyed Salida too. The downtown was cute with lots of fun stores. We ate out one meal at the Boathouse restaurant and it was excellent. Really fun weekend and getaway. Thanks!

Salida and the Arkansas River Valley are an outdoor enthusiasts' heaven in any season. According to The Boston Globe, "Salida Colorado, near Monarch Mountain, is the real deal for ski towns. Surrounded by the San Isabel National Forest, Salida has old-fashioned store fronts filled with ski and rafting gear, and earthy restaurants to fuel the outdoorsy set that lives and plays here. There’s a reason you have never heard of Salida -- or Monarch for that matter - it's because the locals want to keep their cool stash a secret." Monarch is a quick 25 minute drive from Salida and offers great skiing and snowboarding for beginners to experts. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing is also a favorite activity with limitless options within a quick drive. In the summer, the Arkansas offers some of the the best fishing, rafting, and kayaking to be found anywhere. Extensive hiking and mountain biking trails in and around Salida could occupy enthusiasts for weeks without seeing the same trail twice.

For those seeking a more cultural experience, Salida does not disappoint. Throughout the summer, there are music and art festivals nearly every weekend. Numerous art galleries dot downtown as well.

Finally, there is no shortage of great restaurnts in downtown Salida; The Fritz, Laughing Ladies, Poco, and Amica's are some of our favorites.
